He started making his money before Putin took over. What he has done is avoid rocking the boat like Khodorkovsky and Berezovsky, worked with Putin rather than opposing him.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

One of the very first of the oligarchs. Looks like he's transferring responsibility for Chelsea in some way, which may be a positive step for the club to avoid potential sanctions. His daughter has posted ' no to war'.

One of the things that set the early Oligarchs apart is an ability to see the way that the tide was turning. Abramovich is no different. One could suggest that his securing dual citizenship with Israel is another sign of that. He could potentially abandon Putin and Russia when/if things start going bad. He's "secured his out" so to speak.

Kind of, he has given ‘stewardship and care’ to someone else. He will still be the owner

He will have seen ' both systems' in action and looks like he's built in the flexibility to please himself, as you say good strategy.

Abramovich on 10:44 - Feb 28 with 627 views | controversial_jack | The Russia economy virtually collapsed, because of a lack of investment into it's oil and gas industries - nothing to do with Reagan and the US, although it makes good propaganda. Shares in many industries were issued to the population. Many of the working class ppl who were struggling sold their shares quickly and the oligarchs snapped them up and built up their fortunes this way. Not all of course, some did it through connections and other dubious ways.

I find Israel's view on the Ukraine the same as FIFA in as much as I should know what they are both like but the situation is so bad I'm still shocked at both their lukewarm attitude, what with world pressure I still expect FIFA to eventually kick Russia out of football and Israel to vote against and properly condemn Russia and even if they change their minds I will still have them both marked down, but there again and I can't believe I'm saying this although I expect them to change their minds, will they ?
