O'Riley 10:59 - Feb 1 with 710 views | builthjack | It seems that the deal was set for him to come here at the start of the month. A deal was struck for a £300k down payment, followed by 4 x instalments of £225k over the next 4 transfer windows. Our dithering put the player off, Celtic then came in, and the rest is history. Martin fuming I am told.

Makes us look like a laughing stock. What did the owners think we'd be able to buy him for!? Silversteins role in this window with these stories needs looking into. He was meant to smooth the process (and apparently secure funds). From the outside it looks like a shambles. Massive disconnect between the majority owners, winter and Silverstein.

He will be playing soon enough though. Very soon I would say. Hamers contract out at the end of the season too.

Cooper joined a football club where the money was tight. The club gave him temporarily some great players to return to the Premier league and he failed twice. Swansea have players in O'Rileys position . He had to move on Fulton but failed. Martin has been given a decent budget and a some very promising player from the academy. Martin has chosen to loan out his young players like Garrick and the Cooper boys rather than develop them in house. Martin knowing the financial restrictions has been given a grace period to develop the playing style and philosophy. He will not be sacked after one or two bad results. Martin is a calm character in harmony with the environment and the concepts of gradual development and recycling. In football that means using players in different roles rather than simply discarding them. Manning unused by the previous manager for example. Fulton and Dhanda will not accept pay drops at the moment so must be used. I belief the US people hare keeping the powder dry for the summer when players like Darling are out of contract, along with a large number of other players. There has been no announcement of the two recruitment professional Mr Allen was looking for. It is noticeable that the last two signing were players known to him from Man city days. Sunderland sacked Lee Johnson after a shock 6-0 result. I note the Sunderland had two new centre backs playing and this might have attributed to the result Baath a veteran and Doyle a 18 year old centre back on loan from Man city. Doyle. Perhaps just a lack of coordination. Martin will have to be careful with young Burns. A run out in the u23 with Cabango perhaps?

Agree, we'll be looking for a new manager in the very near future, first chance Martin gets, he'll be gone. Back to the drawing board and league 1.

It’s another false narrative that cooper wasn’t supported. We signed half his team that won the World Cup or worked with him before. Brewster, latibeadeare, guehi, Gallagher, Gibbs white, Wilmott, Peterson, Woodman, Kasey Palmer. That’s 9 players off the top of my head, I’m sure there’s probably more.
