Why now ? Why not ?

146 matches for the Swans, 78 goals.

When back on loan from Bristol, scored 5 in 20 games.

Loves local football, 26 goals in 59 for Neath, 68 goals in 45 for Llanelli and 73 goals in 67 for Ammanford. Just loves football.

So many career highlights for the Swans. I just watched his hat trick against Cheltenham, 2-0 down, won 4-3. A league 3 match on 16-8-03, 20 years ago !! Goal at Liberty against Yeovil at Liberty 30-5-06.

Anyone here able to add those clips, I am not that tech competent unfortunately.

Fond memories.

What a signing by Brian Flynn.

His goal at the Millenium Stadium final was worthy of a dutch international striker.
Techers.

Plus that flag.
Clearly good enough for his beloved Ireland.
They missed out.

Loved watching him, he lifted the club with his skills and goals.
7 nil vs Bristol City was another classic.

Loved him as a Swans player but could have been so much more, file alongside Tate and Robbo.

The Bristol match, it felt that every time we attacked we scored.

Great night at the Liberty.

As good as Tate was for the Swans, whoever gave Tate a 4 year contract extension whilst we were in the Prem a month after he broke his leg in a golf buggy accident needs their head seeing to.

Genuinely surprised to see him on the pitch every matchday. There's rewarding loyalty but this takes it to an extreme.

Alan Tate is my favourite Swans player.

Optimises what it is to be a Jack.

Legend 👍

I'll give you that.

I heard a story about him years ago, invited to a local football teams presentation night, he duly obliged.

They were trying to raise funds to get a kid an expensive operation done. He basically paid 50% for, matched by another Swans player there, whose name I cant recall.

Stories like this run throughout the Swans players over the years, I think this is what helps make them legends amongst fans.

Not just how they are on the pitch, but quietly amongst local community, they literally change lives.

Even some of our ex players who have divided fans, I have heard amazing stories of what they have done amongst tbe local communities where they have lived.

I think more so when they have'nt been stuck up a tower in SA1.

Yea 166 appearances for the swans and 83 goals a goal every 2 games. What we would give for a striker with that rate now. Flynn signed us a few good players fair play. I went to his book signing in blanco's a couple of years ago he seemed a top guy.

It was an incredible decision.
Especially as he was not near quick enough to play in prem.
Thats not about his attitude, but it was an obvious fact.
