Bit of help please….
I’m looking for a really simple mobile for my elderly dad.
Did some research and this be looks tidy:

I’ve only ever had contact mobiles so I’ve no idea how sim free works? How do I get him up and running on O2 which is the only network (I think) that has coverage where he lives?

Sim free, just means the phone is unlocked to any network. As far as up and running is concerned, just get an o2 sim from one of the larger supermarkets or the o2 shop.
A few years ago, when I picked up a sim free from argos, you could choose what sim you wanted, a choice of the top providers.

As Jack123 says, all that means is you can use any networks, you just need to get a pay as you go sim card from your preferred network or you can get cheap as chips monthly contract these days, if its just calls and texts you want it for. |  | | |
