But would he have been so cautious if he had to balance the books and not been subsidised by the English taxpayer through Furlough and the likes.
Is Drakeford getting this right ? on 08:25 - Apr 23 with 1148 views | Scotia | Announcing this in the last news conference before the election is nothing more than electioneering. He's kept people in the dark until the last possible moment hoping for the recency syndrome effect when they hit the polls in two weeks. The science has backed this since February. The man is a dreadful national leader, political leader and politician.

I agree with you in principle but if it was not for the vaccination program we would not be moving forward now. This has nothing to do with Drakeford if anything he has been a hinderance.

I fully support the vaccination programme and grateful that the UK government seems to have got this right and kudos to them for that ( which does not mitigate the massive cocks they're also are guilty of) Going forward this is now somewhat less of what the government do and rather more of how the public act and the effectiveness of the vaccination programme.

You do realise that only 10% of your taxes go to the Welsh Government ? The other 10% or 30% go direct to Westminster. So that is then used for vaccines. (a bit given back to Wales) I thought you would have known that.

Is Drakeford getting this right ? on 10:07 - Apr 23 with 1054 views | Catullus | I largely agree with Boundy and whiterockin, I kept myself safe, myself and my family by following the rules though those rules are as much common sense as a political instruction. We all know the best way to avoid a virus is to not come into contact with it, we all know (or should) that "coughs and sneezes spread diseases" I guess I was lucky when I got the letter to shield that my wife was allowed to work from home, eventually! I think the routemap is close but I also accuse Drakeford of looking to see what Bojo is doing and trying to do something different, I think this approach has caused as many problems as it's cured along the way. It's caused confusion to start with. The six people from six households rule to start with, my mates thought it had already started and had a small get together, 4 people, a few days ago. No UK politician has done well during this, until the vaccines, Bojo did well with purchasing and when Drakeford got his act together he did very well with the rollout.

Thats a good post. I was in Kington yesterday, which is just over the border into England. Absolutely loads outside the pubs. No masks. No social distancing at all. Selfish tw@ts.

I have seen this thing about taxes a few times, JohnLangy first mentioned it to me. It's confusing to be sure but where do you get your tax figures from? According to official figures Wales generated around 28 billion in taxes but the Senedd spends just over 40 billion leaving a deficit of just over 13 billion. I'd be genuinely interested to know where your numbers are from. If we're to debate having more devolution, indy or abolish we need all the facts and the truth.

Is Drakeford getting this right ? on 10:28 - Apr 23 with 1024 views | controversial_jack | I believe Drakeford has done a good job.He has been more measured and cautious than the other UK leaders. He has also taken the tough decisions when needed. You can't ask more from a leader than that. Yes. most have followed the guidance and kept themselves safe -I started wearing a mask before it was mandatory, however there has been some selfish tw*ts who have put other at risk. Hose parties etc, is as bad , if not worse than drink driving imo.

Mother of God, which tough decisions has HE made? The man has either copied BoJo 2-3 weeks down the line, or waited until BoJo has made a decision then went against it to politically point score! The man is no leader, the man is a blithering idiot with absolutely no personality. I voted Labour for the first 15 years or so of my adult life then realised they are holding us back in every way, Welsh Labour are destroying us here...open your eyes.

It just goes to show the resentment to Drakeford in what would normally be Labour strongholds. People in Wales are very slowly waking up to the realisation that outside of the Cardiff area the last 20 years have been wasted.

Drakeford is in full electioneering mode bring forward dates when restrictions are ending. Where is the science? Why is he Trying to bring his dates into line with England's? No more careful and considered decisions from Drakeford he knows he is loosing vote share with his old dates desperately trying to find extra votes as he realised most the school children he gave votes to have not registered.

No they won't because the figures I quoted are the official figures. Did you get your numbers from the HMRC? PS, the official figures say that in 2019 Tax revenue per capita in Wales was 76 percent of the UK average, but spending was 108 percent, leading to shortfall. Wales spends more on social security than other parts of the UK If we get so little back how do we spend so much? [Post edited 23 Apr 2021 15:53]

Is Drakeford getting this right ? on 17:17 - Apr 23 with 876 views | DwightYorkeSuperstar | Mark Drakeford on January 18th, 2021: "We have to use (Wales' allocation of vaccines) over that six-week stretch. There would be no point, I think, and it would be logistically very damaging to try to use all of that in the first week and then have all of our vaccinators standing around with nothing to do for another month. The sensible thing to do is use the vaccine you have got over the period that you have got it for so your system can absorb it. You don’t have people standing about with nothing to do.” How he is still in a job after that is, quite frankly, incredible. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/jan/18/welsh-leader-mark-drakeford-defe

The vaccines in Wales have been administered by our marvellous Welsh NHS. Health is devolved. Well done everyone - including Professor Drakeford. Saved many lives without a doubt.
