The key is to strike a balance. Have a good number of your own players and then leaven that with quality loanees.
We've done pretty well out of the loan market in recent decades, from players like Britton & Tate back in 2002/03 through to Guehi now. Would be silly to turn your back on a potential source of quality just on the offchance that you might only get them for half a season.

Stupid thing is basically all of our best performers this season, Guehi aside, are on permanent contracts. We're not far off the balance I spoke of anyway.
Suspect Cooper is having a bit of a strop because he had plans for MGW that he's now got to rethink. He'll get over it.
