Thier crime is reprehensible and cannot be understood on condoned by any sane person, however those calling for the death penalty must realise this moral absolute.
Killing people is morally wrong. It makes no difference if done by the state or an individual.
In addition our cultures more rational and civilized response to this crime illustrates the difference between our values and those of the culture and religion in which name these deeds were done.

That's not justice, that's revenge. The justice system is designed to protect us from these Effing headcases. While Il have no sympathy for these men if and when they die in prison, or from whatever cause, a state execution would have given them and their like minded idiot friends exactly what they wanted. They would have been made martyrs and other would be terrorists would have been rallied around their cause. Then we would have undoubtedly had copycat attacks.
Now these idiots have life to look forward to behind bars and while I do not accept the death penalty I do accept punishing these scumbags. Life in prison will do fine. I'd argue on many grounds that it is harsher than the death penalty but that's another arguement.
As a country we need to do everything we can to support Lee Rigbys family in this immensely difficult time.

Iver seen many things posted on here but to say I don't find it easy to hate these guys suggests something is wrong with that individual. Its quite easy and justifiably so. RELIGION IS NO EXCUSE. If Police had taken them out there would have been much hand wringing,enquiries, questions asked about rules followed and Islamic apologists just waiting to kill a police officer in retribution.
until this country gets serious about protecting its citizens (it isn't) then Im glad they wont killed outright as some police officer would have been put under intolerable pressure and this country does not back Police when push comes to shove.

Being 100% serious here people saying let them get their just deserts are talking out of their arses,someone mentions Islamic wings and Andrew makes a joke about it but he knows quite well what was meant. If prisons actually meant punishment nobody would be looking for the death penalty,well I certainly wouldn't. These two are going to be given all the protection in the world and that is quite simply wrong,they should be lumped in with all the other prisoners and told to get on with it.

I don't see how people can think a minimum of 45 years and a full life tariff doesn't amount to a severe punishment.
Anyone who thinks that prison is cushy, even for lifers needs to put the Daily Express down and do some research. These guys are going to be receiving with death threats every day and they have the rest of their natural lives to deal with that.

People like Ian Huntley are attacked in Prison all the time and there will be more than enough people queuing up to have a pop. They wont be in solitary for 24 hours a day.
While I disagree with the notion of prisoners taking justice into their own hands, I wouldn't care in the slightest if something happened to them on the inside.
