Just read about that ticket offer. Why didn't they let people turn up on the night with season tickets and get in with a tenner? Who is actually going to go up there before the 5pm deadline to sort it?
Also, why didn't they get every other local league side to promote it as they made such a point about it being for season ticket holders of any club?

Season ticket holders could turn up on the night and get a ticket for a tenner, I did.
The offer that ended at 5pm was a different one for non ST holders at other clubs. (Think it was £10 of the ticket was bought in advance, was £13 on the gate)

Indeed. The price thing may have been the main reason many lapsed fans returned. As was seen in the Great Stanley Ticket Debate of a couple of weeks back, some mentioned about the £17 entrance all of a sudden being a lot for a team where, traditionally, you think of as pretty cheap to go to. If that same feeling exists amongst Accrington fans it's possible that some without season tickets just won't pay it whatever is on offer on the pitch. That so many returned when the team was doing badly indicates the fans will come, but only at the right price.
Think we should definitely look at identifying a home game and doing something similar in terms of price reduction and try and get back some of those missing fans who turned up v Bury. Link in a few other ideas and see what happens, but we need more supporters to start turning up to see this team. | |

There is a precedence in that Tranmere were successful with crowds when having Friday night fixtures. Would guess this would have to be sorted as soon as fixture list comes out. I imagine there would be more opposition from the natural fan base though.
As you say, it's definitely worth targeting a particular fixture or two whilst taking into consideration where other local sides are playing on the day. To emphasise, it should be maybe a couple of games marketed from the off in august and continually talked up through the season. | |

Need to make sure more than usual turn up next week first. You would think the marketing team will have identified this opportunity and we'll see a change to the promotion of the game in the week ahead.
Is it too late to get something sent to United/City/Burnley etc to run a similar promotion to that done by Accrington and allowing their season ticket holders in for £15 or something? Doing the same as we always do hasn't worked looking at the last two attendances. | |
