17 for an adult and 12 for a child. After reading that Stanley had reduced admission for their own fans. We have a substantial increase on last year! Any one else feel like me and are passing on principle at this move?

Considering their home fans attending games so far just about push 1000 the price cut isn't having a positive affect

Seems ridiculous to be passing up attending a fixture you'd normally want to see for the sake of a couple of quid - and £3 less than we charge away fans. Especially if you'd be prepared to pay say, £18 to watch the Dale somewhere else simply because they haven't increased their charges!

To be honest.. I am sick of paying over the odds at away grounds.
After over 30 years of watching home and away, we decided to retire from going away.
I am not prepared to pay £17 to stand on that open terrace with some of the morons that now seem to follow the Dale and seem intent on causing as much bother as they can.
They all come out from under the rotting woodwork for the Accrington and bury games.
It actually makes me ashamed to say that I follow the same club as these idiots.

Every club has them and they have been there for the last 30 years, why dont you just view them as a source of amusement like the rest of us do?

There are some belters amongst them though and the majority couldnt knock the skin off a rice pudding, just sit or stand away from them. I agree about the prices though.

Nah..
I cant be bothered with sitting any how.
Thats why I use the Sandy.
I am not prepared to pay £17 to stand or sit in that excuse for a football ground.
There should be minimum standards to be adhered to. The Crown ground doesn't even come close to be good enough to feed a dog in.
Not trying to be elitist but.there are too many grounds where visitors are treated like cattle. Except there are rules against the mistreatment of cattle these days.

Cant argue with that, i have often wondered how Stanleys ground was accepted as being fit for league status.

The toilet arrangements in the away end are an insult to the paying customer and the pot holes on the approach to the away turnstiles are an accident waiting to happen.

Some people interpret the ground as being homely and full of character when in fact the correct description is "a shit hole".

I enjoy going to Shit-holes. One of the many wonderful aspects of being a lower league supporter.

Agree about the prices. £17 is quite absurd. Rochdale is expensive, but the facilities for the away fans are very good.

Can't fault Accy though, they are a small team performing above themselves year in, year out. If they survive in this league by charging away fans at an enhanced rate, can't blame them really! They only have about 3 home fans.

couple of observations

Presumably it isn't all ticket? Doesn't say so on Official site but says we have an initial allocation of 1000 tickets.

Is there any financial benefit in buying tickets in advance e.g. £1 / £2 off the pay at the gate price? Again the official site has no details so I presume not. I would imagine however there is a financial benefit to RAFC by selling tickets in advance to fans - commission? If so you would think that the club would be pushing this a bit more

I could be wrong but i am sure that if you dont buy your ticket in advance you cant pay at the turnstiles on the day. I am pretty sure you have to go to the ticket office at Accrington to purchase your ticket. Not 100% sure, but i think i saw it somewhere.

So..
Is it 17 in advance and 19 on the day or,
15 in advance and 17 on the day.
Neither club are being helpful on advertising this.
Sod 'em. I'll stay at home.

There's no early bird prices, it's just £17 whether you pay in advance or not. Having said that, if you wait until the day you have to get your ticket from the Accrington ticket office rather than paying at the gate.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

0
Accrington Stanley - How Much! ?!??! on 17:02 - Sep 16 with 13972 views100notout

So I wonder if the ticket office is open late one night to enable fans that can't get down during the day to buy a ticket and save messing about on the day?

That would be good customer service

Is that what a "ticket match" means? The tannoy announcements served to muddy the waters even more.

Having checked the OS story again, does "Please note tickets only available from Accrington Stanley ticket office on the day of the game." really mean that they're going to insist on hundreds of Dale fans queuing up at an office to then go and queue again at the turnstile? Wasn't it cash on the gate last year?

Maybe the club will clarify this tomorrow, possibly advising fans to turn up earlier if they're not going to get a ticket in advance - also, wonder why there wasn't a re-issue of the story on the OS site again today as a reminder?

Its a relevant point because a lot of supporters turn up 15 minutes before kick off. If thats the case then they wont be in the ground for kick off.

It wont concern either club though because the welfare/needs of supporters is irrelevant to them. If they can make things awkward for the paying customers you can bet your bottom dollar they will.

Then they scratch their heads at low attendances.

Charging £12 for a child is plain daft .
Just glad I read this thread before going firm on taking the grandkids, £36 + refreshments,
not a chance.

Given the unfavourable reaction in some quarters towards the ticket prices, I wonder how many we'll be taking to Accy?

This is one of those games that could see us really push on towards a playoff spot, although I've no doubt we'll have a battle on our hands.

I still can't believe that some fans who would normally be keen to go and support the lads are put off by what remains one of the lowest admission prices in the football league. Yes, it's a non-league ground but I agree with shakerforever; its part of the "charm" of pushing for an upwards escape route from L2 that we see the lads perform at this type of ground.

The 2-4 game in 2010 will live long in the memory.

the 3 0 home defeat by accrington hurt late last season - we are in good form with hilly working his magic again

a totally different team than the coleman side that won there this time last year

will be going to this game, accy away is part of the charm of being a football league fan like others have said

would be a big 3 points for us

Just phoned the Stanley ticket line and they are telling me that you can pay on the turnstyle. When i told her that the dale web site is telling everyone we need to go to the ticket office first, she again said you can defo pay at the gate.

Just out of curiosity, do the club get a cut of the ticket sales for away games?
Or is it that they just hand over whatever they generate?
Because if we get a cut it would be in our own interests to buy from the club even though it may be an inconvenience.
Just a thought
