JC Statement 11:55 - May 12 with 7038 views | BartRowou | Apologies if this has been posted: Rochdale manager John Coleman put out his retain list on Friday and insists there will be a whole new look and feel to the squad for the new campaign. Coleman promised wholesale changes and he stands by that comment as he and his assistant Jimmy Bell prepare for life in League Two putting together a strong and competitive side capable competing at the top end of league Two. The Dale boss said, " The release list is only the beginning of the radical squad overhaul promised at the culmination of last season. The disappointment of losing our League One status hurts us all but now it is time to put that behind us and to look forward to the future. "We have several targets identified and it is anticipated that there will be plenty of comings and goings throughout the summer. Both Jimmy and I are confident that the squad assembled by the start of next season will have a whole new look and approach and will be capable of competing at the top end of league Two. "All we ask is for is patience and for supporters to trust in what we are doing. We only have one aim and that is to bring success to Rochdale AFC and we are confident that we will do that.

JC Statement on 16:39 - May 12 by jorafc | Okay @TVOS I havent said I didnt agree - but hindsight is a wonderful thing maybe the club didnt realise it would get jumped on as its the retained list everyone wanted to see - Im sure we arent the only club that hasnt released a statement. @ColDale Yes - it should bring revenue to the club - I havent disputed that either - but its not like Asda, you are selling to a specific market and will only get a certain type of customer so of which havent got endless pots of money. I for one havent got extra money to spend in the shop every week. I think the club have recently improved the merchandise in there but there is only so much you can do and it still be effective. There is no point kitting out the club shop with hundreds of new items if they arent going to sell. Surely bringing new things in bit by bit is better that spending shed loads of money we havent got? There are improvements to be made on everything like you have said and I have seen improvements in the club in recent years. @Macro Im not talking shite and I am not ignorant. There is no need to be rude. Those points are just my opinion which I am entitled to. Nobody has said my opinion is right (me included - as its just an opinion) and I havent said that anybodys is wrong. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

the issue with the commercial side / club shop is that it has not improved and I don't think anyone could claim that it is in a better state than say it was five years ago, and whilst local economic matters will impact, that should ensure efforts are doubled to bring in revenue and not used as an excuse. As I've said on here a few times in the past few weeks, the club has not advertised a single product for sale in the club programme all season (not counting the JD Sports ads which appeared in the last couple of weeks of the season), and the Colemans Mustard T Shirt would seem to be the only item advertised on the OS. No one has been emailed whether it be new lines or the run up to christmas to advertise anything, and it's hard work at times even finding a link to the online shop. To call such a mentality amateurish would be complimentary. Unfortunately, such losses will ultimately impact on the manager's budget.

Simple solution: Shut the shop, do everything online and via mail order catalogues available at the turnstiles and door to door leaflets (goldbond?). It probably only needs one reasonably competent person to fulfil the orders and purchase replacement stock and a few hours with a print / design agency.
JC Statement on 20:01 - May 12 with 658 views | SuddenLad | This might have been another 'own goal' for the club PR machine, but to be fair to JC, his statement is nothing new. He has been saying publicly for weeks that the playing staff would be undergoing a major overhaul during the summer break. We all knew what he had said. He was on BBC on Monday night's soccer show saying exactly the same thing not long ago. The situation with players is affected more by the actions and choices of the previous manager than anything else. It doesn't mean the contracted players will be here come next season. It could be worse. Don't forget, we were about to offer Pim Balkestein a 2 year contract, when Mr Eyre was asked to depart. Roll on August.

No because then that would exclude a majority of fans surely the commercial Department have done a survey like the likes of Blackburn/Bolton do every 2 seasons its better adverts being up in the town centre and both shopping centre like hornets surely its agreeable with Labour being back incharge in town and other asspects like the team sheet lacking adverts because they could be helpful for joe blogs excutive looking for nearest taxi and other parts promoting were you can get a shirt framed nearby there were lacking of promotion of games not that i'd blame the people above but i'd still give fans experience of real football in North West England because for example you get Who Were they?? Replay; Rochdale its not always a bad thing because for example team we played like stevenage they are in the Play Offs and they kept the 3rd team best in Football League to a goaless draw in the Play Off 1st Leg you always gotta turn a negative into a positive IN COLEMAN I BELIEVE LOVE THE DALE HATE THE SEAFOOD [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]
