Wales is getting dumped on by these wind farms particularly off shore ones and all the benefits are going to the Crown Estate and King Charles.
It is being presented as good news for Wales with very few construction jobs and even less permanent jobs.
I am pro Wind and sustainability but Wales has to benefit from the loss of our great scenery with turbines and associated pylons . A project was turned down in the Bychynau bannau (BreconBeacons) recently. These projects will keep coming. [Post edited 13 Mar 12:23]

When you consider that each wind turbine costs around £3M and can be fabricated anywhere £600M may not have a huge impact on Welsh jobs.

There has been talk of big UK electricity battery farms which can store this surplus energy from wind and solar.
There is plenty of juice it seems. We just do not have enough storage. The Dinorwic plant in the slate area did this job pumping water up the hill in quiet times and releasing it at peak times..There was probably a net loss of energy but availably energy when it is needed. | |

We are being taken for fools. There is energy…and it is green and available if required. Yes I know and understand the grid needs upgrading but with homes becoming more energy efficient and using less electricity then companies have to find another way to screw us….and this is how. | | | |
