I am interested in ethnic slurs of all types. We live in a ethnic diverse society. As Welsh we have had 1400 years of slurs from Angles and Saxons and some have learned to brush it off. Now over the last 50 years the similar slurs against new populations are triggering an angry and sometimes violent response. The incident in Istanbul 1999 was instructive. A gang of fans acted as it they were in Inglewood not Istanbul did a few ethnic slurs and two went home in a box. No one cared about them in Istanbul. They wanted to treat the Turks as it they were Welsh. Swansea had the same problem in Greece. It is like this outside the Anglo Saxon world and probably Scandinavian countries and France. I want fans to looks at ethnic slurs as a single issue . Not pick and choose. Why is it OK if insult elderly Welsh shopper's in Cardiff 1 mile from the stadium but not OK to sing abuse at Raheem Sterling or Yann Dhanda. He was very upset. No idea what they said about him [Post edited 13 Mar 14:36]

Unless someone mentions carnal relations with a sheep? This labour bill, who presented it, who thought of this clause? It's another step down the road to the big brother state. I'm glad I'm getting old.

With age you should get smarter. I do not mind banter at all. Being called stupid or clumsy or deluded etc However it it veers into pseudo obscenity and porno I think sensible " older people" have the right to call order. I gave the Bristol city example because it was not funny not a laugh not banter. It was ethnic slurs sang at shoppers and cafe goers and the South Wales Police accepted it. Cardiff city complained on behalf of their billionaire owner not the general public. I was in a pub and some fans from Liverpool made an ill advised comment and was ejected by the pub land lord by force [Post edited 13 Mar 18:39]

One for Res to disseminate on 18:43 - Mar 13 with 26 views | majorraglan | The article is click bait nonsense from the good old Daily Express. Nowhere does the legislation say there’s a requirement to report jokes. Clause 18 enhances protections for those who make disclosures of workplace sexual harassment by clarifying that such disclosures attract rights under whistleblowing legislation, such as protection from unfair dismissal and detriment. But why let the truth get in the way!!!
