Vipotnik 18:55 - Mar 8 with 943 views | JACKMANANDBOY | Much better under Sheehan, a few decent attempts today following a quick piece of control, looking like he could be a decent option for us. It must be soul destroying to be an attacker watching the pointless sideways and backwards nonsense that we saw under Williams.

Vipotnik on 20:46 - Mar 8 with 668 views | heatwave | Vip had some Zip today. He was not isolated and the speed going forward seemed to suit him. In a nutshell he wasn't having to wait 20 mins for a pass to find him. That has to be down to Sheehan.
Vipotnik on 21:13 - Mar 8 with 619 views | Dr_Winston | It's not rocket surgery. Under Williams he was frequently left completely isolated with non existent service and support. Sheehan clearly understood this (unlike many of our supporters) and has rectified the situation, resulting in Vipotnik getting a new lease of life. Things aren't perfect. A natural #10 behind him instead of Cullen would be a big help, but at least now we're starting to see more of the player who was always there if people cared to look.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

The Swedish guy is universally rated and hopefully add creativity to the party as well as a fully fit Ginnelly who a gas tricks and pace. Big solid goal scoring number 9 s are a rarity in UK football and he would be worth his weight in gold if he can put away a high percentage of chances with head and feet and get 15+ goals in the championship next season The price starts at 8 figures.

Vipotnik on 06:49 - Mar 9 with 244 views | jack247 | This was written about Hojlund at Man United recently, but it sums up Vipotnik under Williams and at Preston midweek superbly. ‘Rasmus Hojlund having 17 shots in 22 Premier League games this season tells us he doesn't really understand the CF position: the right movements to make and when/how to get shots off from certain positions. That's the type of shot production you would expect from a CM at a mid-table club. To put this into context this ranks him around 144th in the league, behind De Ligt and Dalot (our defenders) and Casemiro (who has hardly played) to name a few. It’s the same number as Martinez who’s a CB and been out for a month. Cameron Archer, who has similar minutes for objectively the worst team in the league, has 25. So yeah, I think the issue is more than just creation.’ Clearly having the likes of Cullen and Eom closer to him gives Vipotnik options to lay off to (which he does really well) and gives him a bit more space to get shots away. Without doubt you’d expect him to be better in this system. Like Hojlund though, he has failed to do the basics for most of the season. There’s no excuse for shying away from physical contact, not making decent runs or being a couple of seconds late to react to chances, regardless of the manager or the system. He looks like the player we thought we were getting now. His efforts over the last 6 months don’t get exonerated.

In his first few games he was making runs, it's the way that williams had us set up which made him look poor, he was having good games for Slovenia then coming back and being made to look useless. I said it over and over that all he needs is support and low and behold the charlatan goes a decent manager takes over and vip has 3 good games, long may it continue.

It’s a combination of both. Absolutely no arguments from me that the way Williams played didn’t suit him. Vipotnik is nowhere near blameless for his performances since August though. Cullen and Bianchini have played that role in little spells this season and both made a better fist of it. I wouldn’t say three good games either. Excellent yesterday and against Blackburn. Barely involved at Preston, I think the commentator counted 5 touches fairly late in the first half. Regardless of all that, if he keeps playing like he did yesterday, he’ll be a real asset. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Definitely. 100% agree this way of playing suits him better. It’s not the binary scenario where one party is 100% to blame and the other is 100% faultless that many would have you believe.
