Burnley full-back Roberts signs contract extension on 18:31 - Mar 6 with 1158 views | max936 | I thought he wanted to comeback, I'm sure someone posted that as fact a little while ago, which it obviously is not a fact. Still got plenty to offer Burnley so I don't blame him one bit for staying there and earning more than he'd ever get here. [Post edited 6 Mar 19:26]

Anyone with any sense could see it was going to happen. He is having an excellent season in the best defence in the league. A well deserved reward for CR.

What's that song about wanting to go home again. But I guess 30k a week would compensate for home sickness and a poor sewrage system

He has lined up a little retirement gig here on Swansea like Joe Allen did and will ask for £15-20k a week when he spends half a season on the treatment table. It was Connor who said he wanted to return to Swansea no one else. Sorry mate it is 2027 and we have Sam Parker who is younger fast and fitter. Try Wrexham Burley perhaps have offered him £1.5m for 2 year ( £3m) to the aged of 32. Swansea could have offered a long er contract on less money. A four year contact on £750k. (£3m); over four years to the age of 33 -34 and hope he stays fit like Naughton. It would mirror what happens to Jazz Richards. He had injuries and a good CV but at 32 there was no longer big money on offer and. he signed for Haverfordwest County for a better life on less. [Post edited 8 Mar 17:48]

Rumours went around Super John Hartson wanted to come home to Swansea City . Martinez said not needed with our current squad , thanks , but no thank you . Swans with Bony maybe akin to Joey is not a rest home to loyal ex players . | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Burnley full-back Roberts signs contract extension on 07:01 - Mar 11 with 124 views | RichardO | If we carry on doing well under Sheehan until the international break then we will have a better idea of the strength of the squad which the inclusion of O'Brien and Delacroix and the different setup seems to suggest. The loss of Peart-Harris and Darling was was differcult to judge away from home as you would expect the home team being one nil down to try and put that extra press on us to see if we would buckle which while we didn't we did lose some of the control we had previously before Darling's injury. Connor Roberts has sorted his near future out and I can see no reason to try and bring him back paying big bucks as we will need to spend money in the summer if we want to keep the two loan signings mentioned above and bring new players to the club. I would like to see a return of number of our players out on loan who are getting good amounts of game time to see if they have learnt enough to progress to at least full time squad members and continue any progress made which will hopefully with the help of the addition of proven quality players the overall strength of the squad. Think we will learn a lot about the interim manager and the strength of the squad in the next three games. Hoping we can show that a style of play makes a lot of difference to the ones that threw caution to the wind losing us valuable points time and time again.
