Too scared to make a decision that technology would see in any event.

The linesman for the second goal got it wrong, but slightly forgivable.

Can't agree with that sorry Keith, I've seen swans players sent off for far less. He was yards away, if you can't see someone sfoot heading for someone's head 6 foot off the ground you need Specsavers.

Yes i know it was a horrendous challenge but i dont know why people are getting het up but ateotd the ref relied on VAR because that's what's its there for

Calm down people.

In addition, that prick parish needs to experience some actual minutes on the pitch to comment on how a player performs on the pitch

To be honest, I've always thought Oliver useless.

If he didn't have a clear view of the incident the way players go down and roll around these days you can see how he would play advantage to Palace and let VAR sort out the foul.

It happened that fast there was no way he could see what part of the keeper hit the Palace player.

He let play go on for a couple of seconds, he stopped play and went straight upto the Palace player to see how he was.

Imo oliver was totally in the right in having a look at VAR, if there wasn't VAR the keeper might have got away with a yellow as it was early in the game, it didn't take him long to decide it was a red.

Btw I'm surprised the Palace player wasn't knocked out completely.

I didn't think it was such a heavy contact that it would knock him out but there must surely be nasty stud marks on his face?

BTW, yes, I have seen it now and yes it was a red and why did he need VAR because the keepers foot was clearly dangerously high and close to the attackers head.

He needed VAR because as I've said previously that it happened so quickly plus oliver was right behind the Palace striker so he didn't have a clear view.

This incident shows how VAR works, if it didn't exist there would be a chance that the keeper might have got a yellow as it happened so early in the game.

He knows his decision could have been wrong. Yellow or red) He settled for technology and did nothing.

1st red at Newcastle, ref was eoughly same distance away as Oli was , no VAR .

I watched it again, I don't see how Oliver could have failed to see the keepers foot was dangerously high as it flashed past the strikers head. Looking at where he was and then seeing the keepers foot go past the players head he must have seen it. Even if there was no contact it was dangerous play.

On the other hand I have also seen Oliver give decisions when he very clearly couldn't see. He gave a decision against the Swans once when he had been looking in the other direction, had his back turned to what happened.

I am not saying he didn't see his foot up high, I am saying it happened that quick no one could see what actually connected, when I first saw it at normal speed I couldn't make out what connected but after seeing in a slow mo replay I thought wow ffs, that's why imo oliver did the same, used VAR.

As I've said before if there hadn't been VAR I bet oliver would have given the keeper the benefit of the doubt as it was so early in the game, that's why I'm a massive advocate of VAR.
