Unbelievable stuff, let's not vet where our aid money goes!

Absolutely incredible, I wouldn't mind betting that a great deal of our overseas aid falls into the wrong hands as well.

It is also a fact that the BBC also give money to the Taliban , although no mention of this in the first link ,although to be fair this was an article from 2021.

The second like is current and some may say its a price worth paying if it allows the citizens of that sad country to be able to have a wider view of the world .

Just chuck billions of dollars into war zones without regard to who you are giving the money to, what could go wrong?

As we've seen everything , but just think of the profits to be made .Like politicians , decisions made in the boardroom rarely affect those making them.

Foreign aid, great when it's spent well but when does that happen? Apparently not as often as corruption.

Of course it does. Equipment meant for the Ukraine has found it's way elsewhere

Can you give any examples please? There will be instances for sure. We do not live in a perfect world.

The money is given to Afghanistan. Afghanistan is no friend of their neighbours Iran. It is a complex subject.

A mass starvation of Afghans is no use to anybody. Biden came to some sort of deal. Keep Al Qaiada and the like under control and we will help you out a little. It is leverage to try and limit heroin production would think. Heroin and the Taliban is something I will have to read up on.

The Taliban is the leadership of Afghanistan and carries at least some consent from the people.

A brief look on google.

"The Taliban have instituted a ban on narcotics in Afghanistan. While that has led to a massive drop in production, it is hitting the rural poor particularly hard. Foreign donors should work with the government to ensure the policy does not further undermine vulnerable populations."
