All I see happening right now is our bills are rising for little appreciable gain in renewables.
Can't the government slow down the march to renenables so the UK tax payer isn't so hard pressed? There are oil fields around the UK that could be used so we don't have to import so much oil.

With regard to climate change I think we're knackered and heading for a mass extinction, similar to the dinosaurs, in the next few 10's of thousands of years. With huge issues with immigration, food production and extreme weather conditions over the next couple of hundred years maximum.
There's nothing we can do about it.
Water pollution is from agriculture and sewage treatment. We produce food too cheaply and need to improve sewage treatment and drainage. But who's going to pay for either to be improved? | | | |

We are not the first and we are not leaders in the technology either. China and the USa are noth ahead of us. There won't be a benefit to the bill payers either, we will continue to get milked via "green tariffs" and highly subsidised bills, our hard earned will continue to flow into rich peoples bank accounts. Look at our bills now, look at where the tech is being put and who benefits.

It is not exact but big cities in China have poor air quality. By comparison UK and Europe has better air quality. Bejing Olympics has the embarrassment of poor air quality. [Post edited 28 Feb 17:42]

They're not breaking the law. We've allowed them to do what they're doing on the whole.
We need intense agriculture to keep milk and eggs as cheap as they are. My view as a realistic environmentalist and in my personal life is that we need to pay more or use less. We can't have both.
To improve the sewage infrastructure will cost millions and millions.
The bodies responsible for enforcement have seen huge government cuts
