🔴 Likely candidates for the Swans job 19:37 - Feb 17 with 29310 viewsKeithHaynes

Let’s start with the ones who are way out of their depth.

Rob Page
Garry Monk.

The Swans need to be focussed and a proper manager who knows the Championship and has been successful is the only answer. Quit dreaming about idiots 👍

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Best performance of the season was the first half against QPR and that was orchestrated by the chef and the kitman apparently.

At some point the players need to take a serious look at themselves and admit they are capable for a lot more than they’ve been showing regardless of who the manager is.

To a point, but we saw every time Russy tried to play his style with a three man defence it was an absolute disaster, so I'm not entirely sure we should be blaming the players for it being just as bad when Williams does it as well.

Likewise, if the team are being sent out to maintain possession at all costs, or ordered not to take any kind of risks with the ball, even if in attacking positions, it's not their fault if we don't create much either.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

To me it sounds like it's Sheehan until the summer at least.

"It's somebody who can help us be true to our identity, which I think is so important. I have never come across a club that has such a strong identity in terms of playing style."

This bit concerns me. No more possession for the sake of it merchants please.

I thought that our identity was possession with a purpose; players who were comfortable on the ball, could move it quickly to change the point of attack and drag the opposition out of shape. Always helped by a forward that could stick the ball in the back of the net.

Retaining possession is fine, but when it is done at a snails pace allowing the opposition to reset, waiting for a misplaced pass or turnover to spring a counter attack at pace it is a recipe for disaster.

I saw Jesse Marsch being interviewed earlier on CNN regarding Canada and the 51st state thing. He seemed very intelligent and well spoken, is he a good fit for us who knows but I can't see him giving ridiculous pressers.

Our identity "was" posssession with a purpose. For most of the last four years it has been all about possession for the sake of possession, which the club needs to strongly move away from, not make similar noises about repeating.
