Where do we see our loaned out players... 07:53 - Feb 10 with 1503 viewsRichardO

... next season?
Will they be sold on or returning to get first team experience?

Where do we start with this, we have so many out on loan and who knows what league we will be in next season. Plus they have varying lengths of contracts left.

Fisher try to offload but it will not be easy.
Broome sell.
Yates sell.
Kuharevich sell.
Congreve keep possibly loan out again.
Cotterill keep possibly loan out again.
Wilson keep.
Thomas to early to say.
Widell obviously keep.

I must have forgotten some.

All this will obviously depend if we buy anyone and strengthen areas plus if anyone in the u21s comes through this season.

Some dead wood there
Fisher a stand out though
Worst keeper
Longest deal
Unforgivable

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Yes there does seem to be some deadwood but we have seen players unable to get into the starting eleven because of resident players keeping them out.
Just the addition of O'Brien has created a different mindset and able to bring players onto the ball, even Ollie Cooper coming on to add a bit of forward momentum while also able to do the defensive part of the game, I hope our youngsters have a different role model to aspire to in O'Brien but this is just after one game hope he can keep the quality of his game up.

Cotterill and Wilson might be good enough and ready to play. Using low paid development players gives Coleman what they call "cap space" in the NFL.

Cotterell s wages replacing Grimes s wages will be a big saving. He has to be good enough of course. Wilson has pace and is direct. He is playing at a level where he should make hay.

Yates will score a minimum 8-10 goals at Championship level and is a poacher. These goals make points. He is one course for another 8-10 this season. Can Swansea give these guarenteed goals to a rival ?

Thomas must show something in RoI. Congreve is a big fellow and needs to continue to develop physically to use his power.

Player like him are unusual. Big strong good touch and set piece.

Congreve reminds me a bit of Colwell, undoubtedly some of these players need some regular minutes especially now possession based walking football is hopefully a thing of the past.

Like what I have seen of Congreve coming on as sub at senior level and under 21s, what I don't understand is he makes the effort to track back with a player but doesn't get goal side so he can keep track of their movementt, invariably the opposition players movememt on Congreve's blindside is missed amd and amn attacking option is made. This not just a Congreve problem we have seen Grimes do it and it was a habit that Fulton had lost under Cooper but has.reappeared.
Their seems to be a habit of midfielder passing on opposing players to the backs but there aren't enough back to cover the numbers pressing forward .
Thought Congreve worked quite well with Joe Thomas in the under 21s.

Joe Thomas is getting a lot of love after his breakthrough at Newport. He did did a lovely shimmie to throw two Crewe players off balance and a lovely cross for CBR another ex Swansea player to head home.

He looks very slight and will thicken out presumably. I last saw him out jumped by Osula of Sheff utd u21 last year in the 6 yard box. Osula was sold to NUFC for £12m. I am sure he has thinked about that and be determined to win that ball next time

Thomas ? Not sure where he is now.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

I think that in Cotterril’s situation he should be included in next seasons squad. Congreve, not so sure.

Yates back on the bench tonight, I can't see Derby buying him.

Nice to hear in the Indy report that Joel Cotterill is glad he is getting valuable game time under his belt and thinks he is progressing under Ian Hollloway just needs to be reassured that his future is in the Swansea squad next season not think he will be wasted here and longs to be back with Swindon next season, man management?
Full game last Saturday and he scored from the edge of the box.

I would personally like to see Yates recalled, if it's possible.

He's a better option than we have now.

With recent players leaving on a free or for a small fee it seems to be tough to break through into the first team. Abdulai and al hamadi were good prospects and have left.

Unless we are prepared to give some a run in the first team we'll never know. I remember Dan James being loaned out to Shrewsbury I think. Hardly got a game Potter gave him a go and 12 or 18 months later £15m in the bank.

Have any LoI loans ever worked out for Swans ?
Genuine question.
