Returnees 08:59 - Feb 7 with 571 viewsRSCOSWORTH

With the return of Kane Vincent-Young this week it got me to thinking of successful returnees to Col U, and unsuccessful ones too. When it comes to returnees who comes to mind for you? For me they have to have been a Col U player, not a loanee, who left to join another club and then re-joined at a later date.

I'll kick off with Steve McGavin. Made 70 appearances between 1992 and 1994 scoring 19 goals. Left for Birmingham and returned via Wycombe, Southend and Northampton in 1999. Went on to make another 80+ appearances scoring 19 times including two in the famous 5-4 victory over Bristol Rovers. Was such at classy player for us. His son, Brett, was at Ipswich for a while and is having a very good season for Yeovil in the National League this season.

Does Kevin Lisbie count??

I remember him scoring a shed load of goals for us, selling him to Ipswich for a load of money and then they nearly ruined him until he came back to us!

Roy McDonough???

I was going to say Jamie Cureton, but he was a loanee first off.

How about Freddie's Ears?

Bring out the Branston doesn't count, two loans (albeit quite successful ones).
