Done some asking and Oli McBurnie is most certainly up for a loan back to the UK this window. I’ve been told four Championship clubs are interested. This will all fall on the fee’s involved plus he is on in the region of €36,000 a week. Big numbers but we know how these things can be negotiated.

Do we have the money ?
Yes.

P&S will need to be positive and only the club really know where we are with that at this moment in time, It won’t be massively healthy. Oli has played fourteen games for Las Palmas this season with no return. He has never been a prolific striker, but could he settle into Luke’s team ?

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Paitence Max I can see a few coming in if Grimes goes, but there again that will give Williams more time which I don't think is a great idea.

Oh and Plymouth have just spent £1.7 million on a centre half!

Portsmouth have spent £1.25m as well.
Those teams below us are investing, we are selling anything that moves

You really need to ask the question how do teams open us up so easily?

I'll harken back to the friendly game against Riu Ave they put a midfielder high up the pitch between Tymon, Darling and Grimes and were opening us up for fun, it was Franco who shifted position from the right of midfield(he may had been central in front of Grime) to our left hand side and closed down their one avenue of attack, you could say it was a friendly but we have seen a number of times an opposition midfielder push forward without being marked,

Grimes is fully aware he is there but doesn't want to leave the centre of the midfield so leaves Tymon exposed we do not close that route down as our wingers are told to stay wide and our advanced midfielder is undecided what is needed, Cullen confused is he a number ten of and advanced midfielder, we leave players unmarked in the middle of the park even move so as Grimes drops further back.
Would have preferred a younger player being up to speed before Grimes departure but how can that happen if Grimes is ever present.
At least we have Abdulai if Grimes goes, no wait he is gone, Cotterill needs to return but even he usually is only playing 70mins when selected in the first eleven.

Rocky Road ahead but I don't want to see a Grimes clone come in, a more dynamic midfielder making the right choices when going forward and defence yes.

Watched a couple of poor Premier league games on Sunday even watch Man City and Chelsea from the 60th minute on and what was obvious was the teams looking to play on the front foot they were more likely to score provide safeguards are in place, long balls, or short intricate play was far more effective when played at pace before the opposition could regroup.

Will we see that type of play while players seem handstrung to play bravely or would that be carelessly, balls into the middle with no support , full backs coming into the centre on their wrong foot to get the ball forward, Key desperately trying to get it on his right foot often getting caught out if he helps it go down the line either to feet or beyond the opposition fullbacks making them turn but only if done at pace, they are easily defended if a team is allowed to regroup.

I have always been supportive of Grimes but the last couple of month's his play has been awful. How many times is he getting caught in possession. The opposition are closing tight on his left side forcing him to play the ball with his right foot, which he can't. He has been well and truly found out.

The whole point of movement and one touch football if a single play trys to close a players preferred foot by getting tight on that side it is up to the person passing the ball playing the ball on the opposite side allowing the turning of the pressing player, it is surprising how much space there is on a football pitch, once turned the option to play with your preferred foot and with a full view of what is in front of you the quick ball opens up teams, Grimes to Key to Cullen goal.

Up until this abysmal run I thought Grimes was not getting caught in possession this season half as much as previous ones.

As for Norwich I thought they looked a poor team, the home game we kept Sargent quiet because we were aware he was their main threat, it seems we either forgot that or we made no contingencies to nullify that threat. Crazy.

Are we in talks with anyone who could even be considered a feasible replacement for Grimes?
I haven't seen anything that sounded advanced for a while.
What happened to the Swedish lad?

I remember not being sure about Fer in the midfield but now I remember the qualities he gave the midfield with his fine runs and incisive play, even start to get a bit about himself defensively maybe that was one of the reason he got injured not being use to it.
Would playing Ginnelly or Eom in the advanced midfield role help us out in the middle having a threat who can pull players out of position that Cullen seems unable to do given his lack of pace and ball control, I mention ball control because the number of times he was unable to get the ball under control on Saturday was noticeable one touch football needed but in his defence some balls from Tymon are shocking and often not on the deck and the lack of support in the middle of the park means an alternative one touch passes are not available.
What will happen if Grimes, goes who knows but there is a time to say bye bye.

Maybe its because of the malise that's been hovering around the club, that's why he's decided that he needs a fresh challenge.

We need our bruisers on (PH, Ginelly, Vipotnik) on to wear sides down to let Eom have a fair chance . Otherwise he just gets bullied out of games

Some would question PH as a bruiser, Ginnelly looks a lighter and leaner than I remember and can't see him wanting to get in the thick of a melee seeing as he is returning from a long lay off although Parker looked as if he wanted to get on the ball when he came on, Franco is always in the thick of it and Bianchini is not averse to getting stuck in and seem to make more of a nuisance of than Vipotnik.
A number of names mentioned for the top of the park with some returning really think our problems exist more in the middle of the park and defence with the lack of cover.

It’s the manager and his coaches that set up the team and it’s their responsibility to reinforce the tactics if they believe players are not sticking to it or don’t fully understand it. In my opinion the tactics he uses are not good enough or sophisticated enough at championship level. The decision to get Key to play this inverted wingback role is ridiculous, Key is not Walker and LW is not Pep and for that even to be effective the other players need to understand their role in it and don’t seem to and as soon as we lose possession we end up scrambling around hoping things will work out ok. Look at Key and Tymon’s positioning for the second goal at Norwich.

Totally agree, did tout the idea of Key moving into the midfield but that was on the understanding a full back need to be found instead of Key. Parker maybe but that would leave us short of a winger, any partnerships seen this season are quickly disappearing and need reestablishing quickly , the spine of the team will also need strengthening.

Further proof, if any were needed, to pay as little attention to online stats sites as possible.

a great opportunity back in

I to this very time have been critical of the new board and chairman, they have 6 days to put together a plan with at least 4 incomings and they must be better than what we have got at presant or things will get worse than they are now, there is time, but is the drive there to sort in a positive way, 6 days time at 11 pm we will know

Whatever is the point when the worst manager is SCFC history is still in situ? I wouldn't trust him to carry out the parking cones. Utterly useless - and AC is backing him still. Outrageous.
