January Transfer Thread 13:27 - Dec 23 with 56287 viewsKeithHaynes

Done some asking and Oli McBurnie is most certainly up for a loan back to the UK this window. I’ve been told four Championship clubs are interested. This will all fall on the fee’s involved plus he is on in the region of €36,000 a week. Big numbers but we know how these things can be negotiated.

Do we have the money ?
Yes.

P&S will need to be positive and only the club really know where we are with that at this moment in time, It won’t be massively healthy. Oli has played fourteen games for Las Palmas this season with no return. He has never been a prolific striker, but could he settle into Luke’s team ?

The Wycombe manager is now favourite for the Luton job so it could be an interesting week for them and for us.

Terms are almost agreed he's being announced tomorrow, certainly hope this doesn't put a spanner in the works.

Why do we dally

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

We simply don’t have the cash to fit in the PSR. Tonight’s news is pretty much nailed on.

Joe Low knock back number two will not deter the Swans 13th Jan 2025 17:58
A second bid before this weekend’s dismal FA Cup game away at Southampton has been turned down by Wycombe. That bid was for centre back, Joe Low. It was common news a second bid was coming but now it seems a third will be needed. 0

I hope we have a backup plan in-case the Joe Low transfer falls through.

Nathen Broome joined Port Vale on loan.

That's 4 keepers out on loan now.

Martyn Margetson is going to have an easy 6 months. Seriously though why were we so overloaded with keepers.

We need to juggle the wages, we need to get wages off the books to allow us room to be able to pay the wages of incoming players without going past our limit.

We clearly have scope at the moment to get one in but the outgoings will free up more wages to bring a couple more in.

We can't sign a player from abroad unless they have a WP until Jan 29th.

Gone from 7 to 3 keepers.
Unless there is anyone else ?

If Sunday was anything to go on I would put Margetson on the bench against Cardiff.

I reckon grandad Margetson would do better than our Joe last Sunday.

I’ve got a lot of empathy with McLaughlin to be fair. He’s had absolutely no game time whatsoever and then thrown in trying to play the way we do.

To be a professional keeper will suggest he has far more ability than portrayed Sunday and that rustiness, nerves and style played a huge part in his performance. It’s a spotlight position, make a mistake and it’s noticed usually because it results in a goal. He needs game time but that opportunity isn’t really available to him.

All done in less than a week - why do we make it all so complex ?

I very much doubt it was done as quickly as that. He would have been sounded out well before Edwards was fired.

That wouldn't be the Swansea way. If it falls through Id expect a youngster in, on a late desperate loan.

Don’t agree.
He was playing
He should have told coach he couldn’t play as he wants just like the central “ defenders” should have .
Our players main problem is lack of guts

Ok, but I don’t think he took to the pitch thinking he was going to make those mistakes. He realised when he was in the pitch that the game was running faster than he was used to.

You’re a hard man R whereas I’m just a softy really😁

I’m not easy T,and can still be very volatile even at 75,yrs of age ,which I am of today. Not one happy birthday wish from anyone on this site when on t other site I won the Lunt of the Year award ,hands down . I have been a bit of a xxxx at times in my life but I’m still around anyway although I don’t understand how.

Anyway, yeah,I can’t understand well paid football professionals not standing up to utter jerks like Lukey and tell him they ain’t having it

I am well informed Steve Gerrard game Hooulier a tough time before Gerrard had a heart attack over his training methods and selections .
THAT is a club captain.

Same applies with the utterly obnoxious but brilliant captain that was John Terry ,a proud club man who saw the club greater than any coach and cared about performances .

Imagine us having a captain like that

If the game is going quicker than he thought then just hoof it.
His nain job is preventing goals against. Just whack it down the pitch if in doubt

Indeed .
It’s what a pro short of game time should do.
I blame McG not Willaims actually .
It’s time our cowards for players stood up for themselves
