It does make you wonder what the swans do on the training ground all week. I watched the Gunners last night and their simple 10 yard passes went straight to feet 90% of ours are either short or 10 feer behind or 10 ft in front and all momentum is lost whilst the receiver has to get it under control

Ah, you’ve noticed that too😂. I’m screaming at the screen every time I see that. They’re professional footballers. It’s not hard to pass a ball to run onto rather than a pass you’ve got to go backwards to collect. Even I could do that😒

It would take a hell of a coach to turn Shiphams paste into Caviar.

I’m enjoying the game, the quality of the players on show are on a different planet to what we have available.

Then in is the difference, quicker in foot, thought and vision , which makes it more galling to see how far behind we as a Club have fallen , 8 years in the PL and not making up the number but competing , yesterday we couldn't compete against a side who was sitting bottom of the league without a win in how many . Liverpool and in some parts Spurs were a joy to watch and after that performance who can bet against them winning the PL.

Some call direct football “ hoof”
We seem to just want to possess the ball for possession sake
Liverpool show what it is all about
Watching Lukey ?

It is 'hoof' ball when you lump the ball into an area of the pitch hoping to win it a percentage of times. Not when you hit a pin point 40 yard pass to a team mate moving onto it with pace.

The idea that there is a 'Swansea way' and that is a possession based game, is holding the club back when the rest of the workd has moved on.

Well that’s how you interpret it
Others see a long ball as anathema
It’s very effective
Allison hoofed the ball accurately .
Vigaroux hoofs it into touch
He also needs coaching

Faffing about…. That’s when a keeper dwells on the ball and strokes it direct to the opposition ,as Forster does . The man is a clown

I think we are saying the same thing.
There is nothing wrong with long balls when they are accurate and collected by team mates.
We used to play long balls under Brendan and Laudrup. Williams would often play a 40-50 yard ball to the wings, but he could do it fairly accurately. These days we just shuffle it around, fearing anything longer than 15 yards.
We don't mix it around and we don't open up space

There are one or two in the side now capable of it but why do that when you can pass it 10 yards backwards?
