The people that think that our recent bad form is totally down to the manager.
Obviously it's nothing to do with the p!ss weak squad he has at his disposal.
We only have 4 players injured, the bench only has 2 attacking to replace likewise and people think that we should be doing better in a league that is probably the most competitive in european football?
Williams has done very well with this squad, it is now that certain players are showing fatigue, it's the reason we have hit a slump, it doesn't help when he's been told to play a certain loan player for the full 90 in a position he should even be playing.
Every club especially the top 8 has a bigger squad than ours, they all have injury problems, most are probably worse than ours but they have bigger squads so they can get through these problems
Our current problems are all down to the previous shysters who streamlined our squad in the summer.
It will take at least 2 windows to sort the mess out, I'm hoping that we will get these 3 players plus the 4 back from injury then we can actually play to how williams wants us to play.
But I've heard on the grapevine that our new owners are starting to get p!ssed ofc which to me is a good sign as they (unlike the previous lot) will actually do something about the squad. |  | | |  |

Like most things in football, it’s not black and white.
Of course Williams needs to take blame for today. The players looked like they weren’t up for it. He’s got to motivate them. There are other issues like sticking to the same tactics no matter what and what appear to be pre-determined substitutions.
Grimes was one of the few that put the effort in today, but he just looks shot. Two of his worst games for us in a row. We really should leave him out of the early season league cup games, just up see how we’d play without him. Williams will probably be scared to do that now, but he looks like he could do with a rest.
The majority of the blame IMO rests with the previous ownership. Whatever people think about individual players or the manager, the squad is way too thin. A few of us have been saying it for a long time, it’s starting to become really apparent.
Finally, on Luke Williams - attracting managers is like attracting players. If we’ve got a weak squad, disinterested owners and a low budget, we aren’t going to get the cream of the crop. They wanted Chris Davies. Expecting him to do a better job than experienced, higher paid, in demand managers in the division is like expecting a deadline day signing nobody else wanted to compete with the best players in the division. All in all, I think he’s doing a better job than I expected. |

So our lacklustre performances especially today have absolutely nothing to do with the small weak squad we have, the lack of attacking choices he has, the clear out in the summer with only half the departed players being replaced, only having one striker in the whole squad, having to play 2 centre midfielders on the wing, totally blunting our attack, several key players having to play every minute of ever game?
No, it's got nothing to do with all or any of that, its it's all the managers fault, ok then.

The previous owners spent money on potential. Up and coming prospects. I accept it takes time but at least they should have energy and desire. They however gave older players calling the shots and the boring Grimes Fulton access behind and in front of them. They control the slow tedious tempo of filing around with jaring dot to dot football not thd slick smooth style of aDe Guzman who saw himself as a link man not a controller. Potter got this and he shoved Grimes to right back I recall. |  |

yes whilst Luke as manager/head coach as some responsibility to take there are too many issues which will be effecting players amd team harmony.
The situation around Cabango and Darlings contracts....still not resolved despite the new regime presenting to them.....maybe they feel undervalued and this will spread to the rest of the squad....then we hear MPH is getting a lit of game time as a result of the loan terms and payment....imagine being a "home " player watching his average performances yet keeping you out of the team and reducing your earnings potential.....there are things going on outsiden outside of Williams control which he cannot influence.
What other coach/manger would want to come here when it is.more than likely your centre back partnership will dissappear in January....prospects if attracting players are slim due to a wage cap.

That’s a very good point. I forgot grimes played full back under potter . Why not put him back there and make key the link man between Franco and the front 4? Key loves carrying the ball forward which is actually key to unlocking Championship midfields and defences. They don’t like it at all compared to the easy to defend against Swansea stile that currently passes the ball around in front of them, predictable and easy to counter. | | | |

Key is a very poor full back League 1 standard.
But is a good attacking player once he learns he needs to release the ball. He can’t skip last 4 or 5 tackles. He has a lot to learn. But there is potential there. |  |
