I was hoping Marti would play Morgan along with Varane and Field a few games ago and it seems to have paid off.
The three of them are very complementary and we’re a more dynamic and competitive team with Morgan pushing on.
It frees other up to contribute and just look at the possession improvement stats. [Post edited 21 Dec 17:23]

I called for this midfield 3 about 6 weeks ago. It has legs and 3 players with some positional sense.
As I posted in a different thread. The shape we play and what we’re asked to do requires serious engines in those roles.
It is why Madsen and Andersen (when they played there earlier in the season with Field deeper at ‘6’) were a complete disaster.
According to the Beeb, we won 52 duels to their 32. I’d wager a lot were from the midfield 3. That wins is the ball and gives us possession and a chance to play. |  | | |

I'm as delirious as everyone right now but can't help be concerned that we missed so many chances yet again. We should have scored 4 today, maybe more. I think we've hit the woodwork more than any other team in the league and we did so twice today.
Perhaps now we're in a more comfortable league position the players can relax a little more and find greater composure in scoring opportunities. |  | | |

PNE were the worst team I’ve seen at Loftus Road so far this season.
So buzzing we won that. Fully deserved and a great team performance. It was absolutely rocking when Dunne scored! It’s been a remarkable turnaround, well done Rangers!

Great performance today from the whole team, midfield 3 completely dominated, with Varane my MoM. Great support and atmosphere and a well deserved 3 points.
What a difference 6 weeks make, 5th in the form table and 14th in the standings. Players coming back from injuries for the busy Christmas period, all of a sudden we have reasons to be cheerful.
