Swansea City v Portsmouth : Match day thread MATCH DAY 19:51 - Nov 28 with 11059 views | ModeratorC | Let us throw some light on this fixture. Swansea City ready to increase misery on Pompey ? 29th Nov 2024 07:00The last time Portsmouth played was on November 9th. That day they beat Preston 3-1. Bearing in mind that came before the International break and some twenty one days ago tomorrow they certainly do come into this game fresh. 0 Swans v Pompey : An odd connection & pre match chat 30th Nov 2024 08:00It’s match day again, when you play on a Wednesday they really come round quickly. After today v Portsmouth at the Swansea.com (3pm) the Swans will have a week off … before travelling to Luton for a game next Saturday. 0 Swans in another goal glut game but no finishing power 30th Nov 2024 18:29If we look at the players who just are not performing for the Swans then three new bodies are needed come January. If these individuals can be replaced it may well give the Swans the lift they need, especially in games like today. Having said that the Swans had more than enough chances to win this game today. 0

Swansea City v Portsmouth : Match day thread MATCH DAY on 15:51 - Nov 30 by union_jack | There are worse out there R. Ronald for example who can’t beat an egg. He’s just not cutting it and I don’t think it’s confidence, I think it’s ability. Or lack of! |
I agree, he looked like he was what we needed when he arrived, but about from a few brief moments he's been poor. Cullen again Superb, great cross for our first and now he scores and we got dweebs saying he's crap, next doors cat as more of a clue.

Swansea City v Portsmouth : Match day thread MATCH DAY on 17:01 - Nov 30 with 1646 views | AnotherJohn | We've got to be disappointed with that result against the bottom team. We did make more chances today, but suffered from the usual lack of clinical finishing, and also from the defensive frailty that seems to have crept in recently. I don't know why the manager persists with Abdulai as a late substitute; all he ever seems to do is turn back when a defender is in front of him. Still quite negative too when time is running out.

Does make you think why put Abdulai on for how many munutes? Ronald had just skinned the young defender who had a booking and we looked to have a balance in attack able to attack on both sides and room was opening up down the middle. Got to be happy to recover a point and seeing the likes of Eom back on the pitch. As for the goals conceded we are our own worse enemies. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I thought he was poor in first half along with Key, Grimes and Ronald, and others to be fair.

Most of the team were poor first half. I thought that we were tired and sluggish and just wanted to get through the game. Come the second half we just went for it, every time we broke the press we looked like scoring. If we had scored 5 it wouldn't have been undeserved, they missed a couple of sitters as well.

Just said on another thread that I probably would have kept Vip on with the amount of ball we were putting in their box, he'd have nicked at least one of them.

He’s a striker Last out,he scored a screamer Tiday, again, almost at the same time, subbed when we’re looking for a winner, supposedly . I don’t get it I read Tymon looking a monster too. He’s certainly a monstrous defender As for replacing the coach ,hmmm.

Swansea City v Portsmouth : Match day thread MATCH DAY on 19:03 - Nov 30 with 1040 views | jack247 | Got to say I’m absolutely gutted with that. That wondersave from Cullen looked a sliding doors moment. Win 3-2 and we’re super buoyant going into the Christmas fixtures. You can’t give goals like that away though. Portsmouth didn’t offer anything attacking wise and we gifted them two goals when we weren’t under real pressure. I expected a win and a performance today. Second half we got a performance, but only against what looked a very weak team. I’m not a Grimes basher at all, but thought he had a very poor first half. We’ve got to put teams like that away.

It’s hard to justify when he’s been anonymous for 70 minutes. I know he scored a cracker midweek. I would actually have rathered leave him on and bring on Bianchini wide instead of Abdulai, but he wasn’t really justifying his place on the pitch. Why didn’t we see Franco? Is he that knackered? I was expecting him on for Allen.
Swansea City v Portsmouth : Match day thread MATCH DAY on 19:25 - Nov 30 with 949 views | swan65split | Allen was superb today, put a shift in, finishing is absolutely poor, get those barn doors out and practise! an example was that stint where we hit the post/bar etc gripe...last minute , we get a corner and play it short!
Swansea City v Portsmouth : Match day thread MATCH DAY on 20:20 - Nov 30 with 844 views | HoneyBadger | If Eom was fit, why did he not start? Disrupting the march for a winner by substituting Vip and Ronald baffled me. I bet the Portsmouth manager couldn't believe his luck. Agreed, Tymon looked outstanding at times today.

Thought the crosses played into their hands only once did we cross on the ground and that nearly produced a goal. Disappointing result, but entertaining game to watch. Subs still a bit strange!

Presumably wasn’t fit for 90 minutes. I wouldn’t expect him to be after that long out. It’s the same reason Allen plays an hour or so and doesn’t start midweek if he’s played on the weekend. Ronald and Franco rarely play full games either.
