I never have.
We are paying millions upon moons for an extended family and hierarchy and then hope. Visitors spend their money on hotels and food outlets which they would do had we not a Royal system as it is.
They come for the buildings.
We are told we have to expect pain but this does not apply to them. It never has .
Even during the war, Queen and King George V1 visited the battered bombed east end in their fineries then fooked off back to their palace . | |

If a certain poster can post nonsense then why can't I.
IMO the Royal family had the opportunity to make significant changes went when the late Queen passed away. yes its slimmed down some what but the main players excluded themselves through their behaviour ,changes forced rather than planned. If the King wanted a follow tradition and with-it the costs then they should if not all but a significant amount from his pocket rather than ours. | |

You're right ohl. The tourists would still come. All those centuries of history, which so many of them come to explore, wouldn't just disappear because the royals have been dethroned.
And most of them don't come because of the royals anyway. It's mostly art galleries, museums and castles. | | | |

It's probably also worth noting that a lot of the money would have been paid anyway in the salaries of the service and emergency personnel who were involved. For example, £22m of it was Policing costs. |  |

Save 75 million on this, save hundreds of millions on their funding by making them private citizens, open up ALL the royal properties to tourism, keep the pomp and ceremony for the tourists like other countries have done.
