Key is pushed further forwards in this plan. Also the cover for injures would be awesome. The cover on the pitch would also be back to the Swansea way. We are a Leon Britton + Dyer/Routlage , Scott Sinclair 2.0 away from winning the league here next summer š§

Also if no ,
Please donāt say about budget as we donāt know with Tyler Jack army coming in we might have the luxury of an average budget.
It's a no from me, I would prefer Key and we move on. Just because we will possibly have extra funds available, currently there is no need to spend it on area we have a decent player.

Key is younger and could be as good Connor was terrific for us Now his best days are behind him. Hopefully,heās got himself a decent enough pension He could also do joinery work

I saw on the internet that Jake Bidwell gives him wood.
Absolutely not!! Resigning aging ex-players is not the route a successful club wants to go down. The real "Swansea way" is to get all giddy over the idea of signing a 30 something year old that used to play for us. Ideally one from the area. See Andre Ayew, Will Bony, Joe Allen, Lee Trundle etc etc

Going all out is a budgeting issue though.
If we push the boat out to sign a player like Connor, it likely means sacrifices in other positions.
Iāve no idea what weāll be able to spend, but Iād certainly prioritise a striker, attacking creativity and a centre back over a position where weāve already got Key and Parker.
Assuming a huge budget or in the more likely event that we get an offer we canāt refuse for Key, then yes Iād absolutely love to have him back here.

I know we get nostalgic.
Who would be a better option for the same wage. (In Fantasy football world here )
Cyrus V Roberts Kyle V Roberts
It would be strengthening the team but in the real world he would probably command a wage close to our other top earners.

Heās one of the best right backs in the league, a full international and heās also one of the fittest players weāve ever had, he can play a bit and heās got a goal in him.
Weāve been complaining about lack of depth and goals for seasons now, we canāt turn our noses up at good players who really want to come here.

Good points there I chose undecided, but I agree with you after reading this post.

Roberts is trying the Joey Allen trick. Roll up at 32 and play 30% of the games and extend his international career. If he wants to play again for Swansea he rolls up in July and takes a biig wage cut from a three year deal taking him to 32.
He plays behind Key who moves up field or either Key or Ronald is sold for an asking price of Ā£10m.

Connor Roberts is a very good player who is 29 years of age and on a reported Ā£30k per week at Burnley. If there is substance to those figures, then heās going to want something similar back here to return. Is his position the weak link in the team - I donāt think it is. As much as Iād love to see him in a Swans shirt again, I think there are more pressing areas in need of reinforcing and Ā£1.5m could be better spent elsewhere.

Exactly what I was trying to say. Youāve just articulated it better!

He himself said he wanted to come back. He will not get that money at 29. The only way he comes back is in June at less than Ā£10k pw.
He will try to get that at 32 when no one else wants him. Hartson tried the same ruse. Fi your boots then go to Swansea at 32. No thanks. Martinez did not fall for it Martin did.

Definitely not. Why buy another defender when we have the best defence in the league? It's the other end that needs strengthening, not some emotional purchase.

Connor is 29 Kyle Walker is 34 If Connor should be drawing his football pension and hobbling making furniture on the side, then Kyle Walker should be in the nursing home for old players, rather than outpacing many other players in the EPL ! Connor has a good few years left in him yet and would be an excellent signing
