Especially as one players tackle and follow throught is deemed bookable and another's is not, might be a case of the numbers of players who fell to the ground after Pearl-Harris tackle compared to tackles with just one play gets taken out although in one case the Watford players tackle is waved on and two seconds later our similar tackle was deemed a foul. Even Joe Allen being accused man handling a 6 foot plus player as Allen had got between him and the ball seemed a ludicrous foul to be given against Allen. .

Many modern day players playact( cheat) however I think ours don’t . Franco has had some brutal treatment that should have led to red cards but nowt given. We ve also had decent shouts for penalties dismissed out of hand . Dare I say it,I’m rather “ positive” right now, almost optimistic . I think we can get something at Burnley and then it’s the club I truly despise and its fans . Football eh

Not really surprising and refs want to be seen as even and balanced descions makers, how many even the score up it happens a penalty for one often leads to a penalty for the other, a card here leads to a card there, clever players have to learn toplay the ref as well as the opposition don't given him the chance to even things up. He can be your mate with the right approach, not that I'm saying I would try and influence. their outlook.

Sport and officials can't live with them but can't without them. At least in rugby there are laws on the pitch that can penalise transgressors. There are laws about how players conduct themselves maybe straight red is too severe a punishment the regular use of the option for a yellow would give the refs a little leeway in dealing with verbal abuse giving them the option of a red for anything untoward..

I have to say I've seen some very dodgy refs recently especially when playing away , youth rugby certainly is having a bad press locally but I have to say some is brought on by not only parents but some really biased decisions, no its not sour grapes but an observation where two games so far have had to have the refs performance reviewed by the WRU ( the games are filmed) As you say you cant live with or without them. There is a local Junior football league ref who does seem to upset a few but does always explain his decision/or non decision in some cases.
