Cotterill is a midfielder and doing the best of all those on loan. This could be a breakout season for him. Grimes went to Northampton and got 40+ games. Ollie Cooper did well at Newport and survived the transition.

I think we leave it too late to get these young players out on loan. They are passed it in many cases before they have arrived . I read an interesting piece about George Bostock who went out on loan at a young age I think it was to a club in Iceland . He said it made him a much better player learning from older experienced teammates and made him physically stronger .
It also made him a stronger individual mentally . He had to learn to live by himself on his own in a flat doing his own washing /ironing cooking etc . Also being in a different country wasn't easy at first but instilled a steel like determination to succeed .
