Brighton should recall him in January and try to rebuild his career, it's certainly stalled this season. I would imagine he's back at Brighton now receiving treatment and rehabilitation anyway.

This was putting cash over long term development. It is a nonsense business. Most agree Rushworth could be a £30m keeper at least as good as Pickford in the long term. Brighton have messed up his career trajectory and reduced their prospects of a big ticket sale.

He seems a strong personality and will bounce back.
