Swansea City are so close to having a successful season on 08:47 - Oct 17 with 1794 views | EagleEye | I think 12 points from this batch of games is being over optimistic even if things go well. You are absolutely spot on about player mentality & belief having to be right to kick on. Even if they have that mentality & belief instilled into them it could well not be enough to get that sort of tally of points. We lack quality in some positions & another injury or 2 could be devastating to that belief.

Have we seen signs of a successful season so far in comparison to the previous three, the fact we are unbeaten at home in the league seems to show some progress, the fact we couldn't press home advantages in games rankles but we do seem to be competitive in games now and not liable to collapse at the slightest pressure, more resilient, early days yet and maybe harder tests to come.

Swansea City are so close to having a successful season on 09:41 - Oct 17 with 1681 views | magicdaps10 | Mid table and a bit of battle and signs of progression are the benchmarks for myself this season. Squad being thin is my concern, 2 strikers and now our left winger out for 6 weeks is a concern until January. If we don't address these glaring issues with the squad then there won't be a successful season regardless of what predictions people have.

Absolutely. We really need to temper our expectations based on the state of the squad. We’re doing well now, but injuries, suspensions, loss of form will hit us harder than better run clubs. If we finish lower mid table and don’t look in relegation danger all season, that will be a success for me. I’ll reassess that if and when we get new owners who back the manager.

Two of those six weeks are international weeks. I hope we are not stupid enough to let him go to any SK games, fit or not. How much say do we have?

Nothing wrong with the coach, it's just a very weak squad. You just have an inbred dislike of all coaches and are often critical for this very reason. When our coaches go on and are more successful after leaving us, you have to question whether it's the coach or the club.

Why would they do that? We’re in a comfortable position with one striker and two centre backs. He’s doing far better than the owners have any right to expect.

12 points is an ideal. But without them we are still in the same position of not improving the talk from the coach.

Yeah I have. For the life of me I can’t understand why though. I think he’s doing a very good job with a hand tied behind his back. Gets results, doesn’t have public tantrums, punches above his weight.

I’m somewhere in between. Whilst it’s absolutely true his hands are tied and probably doesn’t get reasonably backed I also maintain that his training day coaching is lacking. I say this because we see very little variation in our play week in week out and he still persists with square legs in round holes when we have a couple of oval pegs at least in the squad.

Yes absolutely, but it’s blindingly obvious to me when I stream away games too. With Martin and Duff I could completely understand it. A minority seem to be judging Williams as if he’s on a level playing field.
Swansea City are so close to having a successful season on 13:19 - Oct 17 with 1276 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Mid table monotony Duff style with Naughton Allen Grimes Fulton Cullen is just treating water. All these player are declining or flat lining and showing little improvement. A mid table or say 10th with new players Ronald, Bianchini, Vipotnik Franco Cooper Parker Abdullai Wilson with one of Darling or Cabango signing a new deal is progress. Players that are improving week on week and play fresh attacking football with a tough robust defence. When they go to Leeds and the give them a fight not roll over. This rarely happened under Huw Jenkins with Monk Tate and Big Ash. [Post edited 17 Oct 15:51]

Are the owners despised? This is a forum narrative i dispute. They has been doing OK and clearly can do better but at least now have a plan. The less bright fan cannot see this. They are despised on forums where a handful of posters control the narrative (like you good self). Some of them do not like ma at all and seek to undermine my reputation by calling my speculation as "making stuff up". You do not do this and I appreciate this. So why were they despised. a) Lack of investment - £26m quoted by Swansea independent Journalist today. This is a massive investment. b) Mistreating the useless Trust - Settlement made £500k into their account and 5% voting rights and possibly more . This money in my opinion will never be used for the clubs benefit. The good news for the Trust is that the BoE has got inflation down to 2% from 10%. c) No communication - Forums and fan consultations. The Trust do not seem to attend and may not feel up to it. d) No local presence - Coleman and Gude live in Swansea. Gude is not visible and some fans gave taken the opportunity to make slurs of him being Coleman's golf caddie while getting paid big money. e) Poor recruitment. A new more powerful team has come in. Watson came in but was sacked for possible non footballing reasons. Stuff happens.

He is unlikely to go anywhere near the railway, I don't believe he even goes to the games. Have you ever seen him comment on a match or how a player has played, never. Think about it, constantly praises the owners and constantly criticises the supporters, is he really a Swansea City fan, I've never seen one post to prove otherwise.

Nothing outrageous. I just point out shortcoming in the fans performance. This iincludes not selling any shares in 2016 when the in effect won £20m in the lottery and failed to submit their slip. The other is singing ethnic slurs against my people many who are not football fans. I think Swansea fans need to up their game and engage in debate on my points if they have guts. I suspect many do not. I watch all games. I challenge narratives and people recommend that I get out on ignore. It is censorship.

Swansea City are so close to having a successful season on 20:02 - Oct 17 with 887 views | Dr_Winston | Williams is doing OK. No more, no less. Is he doing brilliantly? No. Clearly not. There are far too many stupid decisions being made that are his and his alone. Nothing to do with ownership, just a manager with weird ideas about what his players can do, and the best ways to utilise some of them. I don't think anyone is helped by those trying their damndest to deflect the blame for what he is doing wrong elsewhere. Is he doing poorly? No, he's not doing that either. Room for improvement for sure, but I'm much more confident in his ability and general competence at this stage than I was about Russy. We're making progress. Slow, unnecessarily hampered progress, but progress all the same. I just wish he'd stop doing the stuff in my first paragraph. [Post edited 17 Oct 22:14]

I genuinely believe his next six games will be the biggest challenge he has faced since he came to us in January. Not only as a coach but mentally as well.
