I remember the switch from gallons to litres, I remember people saying we'd never pay £1 per litre.
In 1986 it was around £1.75 per gallon so about 46p per litre, about a third of todays prices that are lower than they have been for a fair while. | | | |

Seems it was too big a job for Putin. Russia the world's largest country with virtually unlimited natural resources is 37th in the world based on GDP per capita.

It's not a coincidence that the biggest Govt giveaways announced within days of the election came to an amount not entirely dissimilar to £22bn. They knew they were going to spend the money, it was entirely their choice to do so and they used the previous administration as an excuse.
