Kaba ‘killing’ 13:45 - Oct 3 with 7551 views | KeithHaynes | I see it’s now being referred to as a ‘killing’ despite the driver trying to kill officers after being pursued for two miles. He continued to ram police cars after being stopped. That is a deadly action in law. One officer shot him once as he feared for his and his own and colleagues safety. What would you do ?

Mate. They might just as well have saved the placards from 1981 Song remains the same These people are villains These people die by the sword They live by the gun They need to accept the risks of their lifestyle However some impressive eyebrows on his female family

Kaba ‘killing’ on 08:46 - Oct 22 by onehunglow | Maybe Kara’s parents should reflect on how they brought their beloved son up |
I’m not disagreeing with you, but I’ve also seen cases where the parents have done their very best only to see the child get in with the wrong crowd. Friend groups can have as much if not more influence than parents.

Morning It’s fair comment It’s also true many men simply walk away leaving women to bring up kids. This is often the norm. The kids are feral and learn off the streets Of course, well brought up kids go awry but it’s not normally the case I’d suggest inner city London another planet to that of Swanse@,small welsh towns and villages. It is compared where I live Consider yourself lucky you don’t have this on your doorstep. We are not missing out

Morning to you too. I completely agree with most of your comments, there’s a stack of research out there about children from black families not having role models in the family structure. Kaba’s parents, family and friends will mourn his passing, but he won’t be missed by many in society. For some, the flame of injustice will continue to burn, but most law abiding people will come to the conclusion he was a wrong un who got what was coming to him. The officer has quite rightly been cleared. [Post edited 22 Oct 12:06]

Indeed. One thing that sticks in my mind is the questioning of the idea that Mr Blake was a "hero". It was suggested that if you have heroes, you also by implication have villains. Well, you pretty much have the stereotypical case here - the only mitigation I can think of is that there wasn't actually a firearm in the car., even if there had been the day before. I admit that hero is not the first word that comes into my mind, but having seen the online video of the incident and how scary the situation must have been, with a high reviving engine and the sound of metal on metal as cars collided, it took balls to step in front of that powerful Audi. I also noticed that in some parts of the various reports the officer was described as Blake with no prefix, something that did not happen with Kaba. [Post edited 22 Oct 10:10]

Judge has now lifted reporting restrictions on the history - which we already knew about. It won't make a great deal of difference to the liberal commentariat. They are desperate for their UK George Floyd. Actually there is one area of similarity in the treatment of the two cases - a weak-kneed unwillingness to recognise routine criminality. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Kaba ‘killing’ on 11:16 - Oct 22 with 660 views | raynor94 | Reporting restrictions have been lifted now the case is over. Kaba was a member of the 67 gang considered the most dangerous in London. 6 days before his death he gunned down a rival in a nightclub, in a feud over County lines drugs. Blake now has a £10,000 bounty on his head and is in hiding with his family. Had he not been killed he would have stood trial for attempted murder. I hope BBC now reveal these facts!

They pinned a guy down and shot him in both legs but he survived. Shows an intent to cause as much pain and suffering as possible.

There's a video available of Kaba shooting the rival at a nightclub, I wonder which news outlets will publish it?

"I hope BBC now reveal these facts!" I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. Why do they only care when a white man kills a black, they don't seem to give a toss when it's black on black.

One interesting detail in the Indy story is that the jury requested that a note they prepared should be read out alongside the verdict, but the judge declined to allow this. I wonder if we will ever find out what the note said.

I’ve read a few articles and it doesn’t say he was actually arrested for the shooting, only that he would have stood trial for attempted murder. Reading between the lines, I suspect the police knew he was involved or still there investigating but that they never actually caught up with him to arrested him, maybe that’s why he tried to get away. Another interesting snippet in one of the papers was that there was shotgun residue on his sleeve which strengthens the link with firearms. The more we hear it more it appears he was some kind of enforcer or hitman.

The residue would be consistent with the incident involving the car the night before when it was reported that a shotgun had been discharged outside a school. I cannot find much information on exactly what happened there.
Kaba ‘killing’ on 15:11 - Oct 22 with 447 views | pencoedjack | So basically, a guy is stopped by the police & decides he will start ramming cars in front & behind him without a care for people around on foot. A policeman goes on trial for murder even though it is known the guy is a gangster who shot someone in both legs & is awaiting trial for the offense. In addition, the gangster has numerous offenses on his record (many serious) & has served jail time previously. Would these protesters (BLM types) be out on the street protesting if the police officer had done nothing & had been shot dead? This country makes me want to puke.

Thank you for clearing that up. The original report stated that Kaba had been 'charged' but that has been subsequently amended to the effect that he had not actually been arrested. That answers my question regarding him not being in custody.
