Kaba ‘killing’ 13:45 - Oct 3 with 7876 viewsKeithHaynes

I see it’s now being referred to as a ‘killing’ despite the driver trying to kill officers after being pursued for two miles. He continued to ram police cars after being stopped. That is a deadly action in law. One officer shot him once as he feared for his and his own and colleagues safety.

What would you do ?

If hes using his car as a weapon to injure or kill someone he should be neutralised as soon as possible.

Not sure they knew his ethnicity, at night, dark and a car ramming people. Same for white folks. In all that street lighting, dark areas it’s probably impossible to see that well. BTW I get your irony 😉

Guess we should let the evidence unfold, but there are more than a few red flags. Kaba was released from a Young Offenders Institution in 2021 after conviction for possessing an imitation firearm while threatening violence. He was a rapper, specialising in "drill". Within a year or so of release, he was driving a £75K Audi Q8, which had been recorded as being involved in a shotgun incident the day before. Some associates from the South London "67 gang" were charged with conspiring with Kaba to commit murder and GBH in an unrelated Hackney nightclub shooting a few days before Kaba's death. Two of these were convicted of attempted murder in connection with this in February 2024.

Unless something happened that hasn't made the press yet it's absolutely bonkers that this has ended up in court.

Justifiable shooting. End of story.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

His parents attended the court hearing telling the press that they came to ‘see justice done’.

I hope they are now content that it clearly was!

If there’s one ‘good’ thing to come from this, hopefully any further decisions to go to a similar trial will be made harder after this one was kicked out.

BBC doing its best to get "their side" across. As was said in the USA after the Floyd death, that community has a high degree of tolerance of criminality.

It may also mean that the Met officers who refused to act as firearm officers may return to active duties.

The black community (and other wokeys) will label it as a killing of a black man not the killing of a guy who could easily have used his Audi as a killing machine.

Edit: sorry, how silly of me. It wasn’t HIS Audi!

They volunteer for that role though.

Have to say a firearms role is pretty active.

They do indeed. That’s why when it was announced this case would be going to court an awful lot of these officers refused to take part in firearm duties.

The issue I have is the word community. What does it actually mean? Does it mean a white police officer isn’t allowed to intervene in the implementation of the law if the suspect isn’t white? Stop and Search. When according to the media knife crime in London suggests a black majority involved as victims and perpetrators and the majority what are the police meant to do? Stop white people in the name of racial equality?

That's a fair comment.

You'd have to think that a lot of people of black ethnicity have as little tolerance for the likes of Kaba as everyone else. Just like a lot of Moslems despise those stoking agitation.

The reality is that most knife crime in London is black on black. A lot of black people actively support stop and search, but they are drowned out in the narrative by those who want to make everything a race issue.

It's much the same when it comes to Islamic terrorism. The older Moslems, the First and Second generation migrants have assimilated well enough. It's their kids that are the problem.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Like most, if not everyone on here I’m pleased with the outcome of the trial, sadly that’s not the end of things yer and the IOPC still have the opportunity to bring proceedings in the form a disciplinary case for Gross Misconduct - 2 bites at the cherry !!! Many people in our society claim the police aren’t accountable, I think they’re probably amongst the most accountable in our society. They’re subject to the criminal law and a disciplinary code. Based on what we’ve seen over the last few weeks, I strongly believe the sergeant has been put through this trial to satisfy political sensitivities, it’s been done to show “accountability” because the facts as they’ve been reported don’t support a charge of murder.

I feel the officer and his family because he will have gone through 2 years of hell. I also feel for Kaba’s parents because it can’t be easy for them losing a child, that said the bottom line here is that Kaba was a violent villain with seemingly no respect for the law, he alone is responsible for his demise. I’m sure Kaba will be missed by his family, but I suspect he won’t be missed by society.

The facts are now out there in the public domain, let’s hope they will accepted by the majority of Londoners and people can move on.

The CPS is doubling down on self-justification, saying that this case needed to go to a jury. I think many will strongly disagree and may well say that accountability should also be an issue for the CPS. Personally I would like to see at least one sacking. They put the officer through hell, just for doing his job.
