Cooper had his best game in ages. but it was based upon his work rate rather than his technical ability. If he had Paterson's range of passing and vision he'd be a complete #10 at this level. Unfortunately he doesn't.
Against a packed defence that we need to break down he'd offer very little. | |

Cooper is an enabler he linked up well with Piroe and covered for Manning , he is not a natural finisher or a Paterson but sometime when you are good at one thing be it tackling or reading the game trying to cover players or get the ball to other more gifted player they neglect or don't realise they need to work more on their weaknesses rather than their strengths. Cooper is improving isn't that what we want to see in our players?
Franco already has a good tactical skill set that we have been sadly missing for a number of years.
Grimes, Franco and Cooper worked in the first half against Cardiff,today it worked for 70 mintues, the thing Williams needs is to make sure the midfield work out right for 90+ mins. It's a start let's hope it continues to improve, we are grinding out results at the moment. | | | |

Cooper played very well , ran his socks off . We defended from the front and the tempo noticeably dropped when he and Cullen went off. One small criticism is when in the attacking 1/2 or 1/3 he is sometimes flat footed when a long ball is ficked on . He is not anticipating our player winning the aerial duel and is not on the move resulting in a 50 50 race for a loose ball when it should be his to win easily . It happened twice yestetday once when it left him with a 1 on 1 with the keeper . Cant fault workrate and effort 10 /10. | | | |

I hesitate to rush to early judgement on any player whether the first impressions that I get from them are good or bad, but it's hard not to get excited about this one.

I’m not averse to reacting too soon or overreacting but I’d be staggered if this lad doesn’t really step up to the plate and become a truly significant player .
He’s not unlike a young Paulo Sousa although not as handsome obviously

Just hope the 4 year contract now signals the intent to hold on to our better players for a little longer , Downes was out the door as soon as the £ signs were seen to balance the books, a good run helps maintain an interest for the players who maybe just passing through.
Unbeaten in the league at home puts supporters in a better frame of mind long may it continue, would be happy to nick a number of away games like we did a number of tine last season the more the merrier.
We rightly pointed out Franco and Cooper contribution to the game against Norwich but I think we should praise Grimes who looked a different player helping the high press far further up the pitch than previous games long may it continue where needed. For me he upped his workrate and it took its toll because he cramped up badly just before the last set of substitutions.
I think Eom is the most composed of our players in and around the box just need to get him there.
Quite like the look of both Bianchini and Pearl-Harris they look as if they can hold the ball up in a forward position but cannot see them being able to match the workrate that Williams seems to expect and yet if we can keep the ball further up the pitch you reduced the need for the high energy press.
Ronald seems to have regressed under William's in the fact he doesn't seem as effective as he was and yet the stats don't necessarily point to that, want to see Key's first thoughts being get the ball out to Ronald with one touch whenever possible. | | | |

It’s why I don’t feel,thus far,Williams is a good coach. No evidence thus far anyway
