Maybe it was the sign of a intelligent player protecting himself seen quite a few players ducking out of challenges but maybe not a trait you want to see in your players when it counts.
We saw Paterson make some feisty challenges when he felt needed to up his game, looking for new contract?
Willing to cut Naughton and other players some slack when we are winning, will give them more when we are winning comfortably.
Naughton linked up the play on the left very well but he was helped by players making themselves available in the middle park a lot better than we have seen at times this season maybe Norwich over commit to a press with three players that we bypassed. |

Naughton contributes to that to be fair.
He’s a bit like Allen in that he’ll always take up a good position to receive a pass, is comfortable receiving it under pressure and even if he’s just recycling possession, he’ll invariably tidy up a bit and the pass he’ll give will put the receiver in a more comfortable situation.
The more of them we have doing that in midfield or from fullback, the more efficiently we’ll play. | | | |

Scrolling down the free agents Tyreece John Jules stands out. Graduate of Arsenal with a series of modest loans. He could be a lost soul like Routs or just not very good.

I’ve not been one of Kyle’s fans ,per se,and couldn’t see why he’s been given extended contracts . We could do better than him,However, he is an outstanding pro and always has been . He is very limited BUT ,at this level,he shows he is a class above many .
He is a role model for young professionals for sure

Can’t argue with this at all. There is a pretty strong correlation between the people who didn’t rate Routledge and the people who didn’t/don’t rate Naughton. | | | |
