Solanke to Tottenham on 13:47 - Aug 9 with 2787 views | SaintNick | It hasn't done them much good in the past, 12th last season was their best ever position and 15th the year before that since they returned to the Premier League. Before our disastrous relegation season, they were no better than us, in the past few years they have spent well, but havent always spent it well, Solanke only got 4 goals in his first season and they got relegated, 15 goals in the Championship was very Che Adamish followed by a Adam Armstrongish 29 goals in their promotion season, planning for the Championship I think they would have called it in these parts. 22/23 and back in the Premier he got just 6 goals, finally last season he cane good at the highest level and now looks like getting a big move, it took him 5 years to get it

They have a very highly-rated Portuguese new managing director (effectively Director of Football), who looks the sort of chap we should have replaced Wilcox with.

We have Phil Parsons, he has given us Promotion, the Red Wall, fanzones and Ben Brereton Diaz. Does the Bournemouth man have a background in football

So no Premier League experience then, Serie A is a schmuck league where even Charly Alcaraz could get a few games as sub and Lyanco was considered a footballing God

It’s annoying when the likes of Fulham and Brighton and even Bournemouth can outspend us. Fulham signing Emile Smith Rowe for 35 million whilst we seem comfortable in the 10- 15 million bracket now. It doesn’t seem too long ago when those teams were in the lower leagues whilst Saints were first division for many years . It Makes me a bit sad tbh.

I would bite your hand off for a 15th placed finish for the forthcoming season, never mind 12th, right here, right now!! Don’t give a stuff where Boscombe finish. If this new guy is Portuguese perhaps they’ll blow the £60m on Ronaldo 😀 | | | | Login to get fewer ads

As bragging rights go, just contemplating any part of that scenario is just embarrassing - I know Nick will say be patient, the big deals quite often happen late in the window but I beginning to wonder if we will be able to get any of our main issues addressed and sorted with our seemingly limited resources.

Agreed, and added to it is the spending from the relegation season Jan window is still haunting us in more ways than one. I honestly thing the spending regulations that should be aimed at reducing the gap between the top 6/7 and the bottom half of the table is actually making matters worse. I think promoted clubs should have a double allowance for the first season after promotion and a 50% extra allowance the second season back - if they even survive the first… Same with loan players, 4 1st season back, then 3, then 2 if still up. Of course, if you have not got the money to spend it won’t help but at least it would give promoted clubs more of a chance if they have the funding behind them.

Now that would be a kick in the teeth. We really do have to start shipping players quickly to give us some funds to improve our team.

A lot of what they have achieved is through common sense more than money, like prioritising decent goalkeepers and strikers. If they'd had Bazunu, McCarthy, Adams and Mara instead, they'd have been relegated by now. They got Neto on a free transfer from Barcelona whereas we paid £12 mill for Bazunu. It shows once again how badly we have been run that Bournemouth can spend £31,000,000 on a player - smashing our transfer record again .

Tiago Pinto cut his teeth at Benfica before moving to Serie A (not sure if he wasn't with Marseille as well) Evanilson is a young striker who together with Taremi formed a good strike force at Porto. They are absolutely strapped for cash at the moment as the ex President (The mythical Pinto da Costa) left the coffers completely empty for the newly appointed President André Villas Boas (yes the ex Chelsea and Spurs boss). Taremi has left on a free to Inter after his contract expired and Evanilson has left for Boscombe (which is a strange choice to be honest .. more money but not so much prestige struggling for relegation or maybe mid table)

Wouldn't worry too much as he only wants to play for a team challenging in one of the top 5 leagues. He is inching closer to Atalanta but they still haven't met the fee that Celtic are requesting. Have heard a lot about the fact that he didn't make the Euro squad (which surprised a lot of people in Denmark - Thomas Graveson especially called the decision wrong) , the main reason given by the now ex coach was that he wanted to stay loyal to those that had played in the qualification games. The stand in Danish coach is the ex Celtic player Morten Wieghorst who rates O Riley very highly so will more than likely call him up. Also we are taking about a guy of 23 years old ...who had just progressed from their U21 team .. so it's not a huge surprise that he didn't go to the Euros. Atalanta are currently in negotiations with Juventus for Koopmeiners and see O Riley as his replacement.

Not good for a Saturday 3pm kick-off for their first game of the season…..

Solanke to Tottenham on 11:47 - Aug 16 with 1064 views | 1ASIN12 | To be fair Bournemouth have not got a large fan base so it’s not surprising really, I think for the size of the club their away support isn’t bad.
