Rumours of Fisher to leave on 08:48 - Aug 5 by AnotherJohn | Millington was a real character and is probably remembered for that more than his technical ability. However, he made perhaps the best save I've seen from a Swans keeper in a 0-0 at Exeter. A fierce shot from the edge of the area was arrowing towards the top corner and he tipped it away at full length as though he had jets in his heels. |
Anyone one remember Millington walking on his hands when we scored a goal? Also for those on or near pensionable age Tony had one of his saves pictured in the Shoot magazine which was the footy Mag of it's time.

Rumours of Fisher to leave on 08:54 - Aug 5 by shandyjack | The return of Bony is surely the worst financial decision made in history of our club? |
Could well have a point there

at least Clucas could run a bit and contribute slightly Bony and Ayew were signed when it was highly likely we would get relegated. Nearly £30m and £180k a week were thrown at those 2 knowing we would have to carry those wages into the championship unless they pulled off a miracle. Bony was gone as a player and had nothing left when we signed him. That season was crazy for decision making by our previous chairman

Did he? I must have missed that, all I saw was a headless chicken. Although I agree with you re the extortionate wages and fees.

The club' s recruitment went a bit awry and had shown signs of not being upto to the job previously with French Franck, Eder and Borja Baston. They were used to iterative signings and the like of Gomis and Ayew 1 were good signings as was Shelvey, Sigurdson and Llorente. Not putting Llorente on a three year deal was an understandable but regrettable mistake. Bony was bad because even the fans were very worried about this signing. The club put out a rigorous Bony workout in front of Clement. He has demonstrated an ability to pass fitness tests then disappoint since with a number of short term deals falling flat. Nathan Broome has returned on the scenes after an anonymous spell. It could be that Fisher has been told he is now number three behind Vigoreaux and Broome. [Post edited 5 Aug 16:39]

We paid £15.5 million for Borja, he did nothing in a Swans shirt & we let him go on a free! I know Fisher is a bit cr@p but 400K is a bit different to be fair

the clubs recruitment took a turn for the worse in relation to managers - remember Bob Bradley? I've met Carlos C at various football events over the last few years - a lovely gentleman but I am not sure he was the correct appointment when we were fighting to stay up in 2018.
Rumours of Fisher to leave on 00:17 - Aug 6 with 545 views | Robbie | Wilf a brilliant forward for us in his first spell . Had a go at Man. City it failed but an offer too good to refuse for himself and The Swans . City did not rate or appreciate him , loaned him out to Stoke City if I can remember . They again did not take him on , surely there must be underlying issues on his injuries . Questions should have been asked on why we paid £12 million for a player second time around who might never regain full fitness again . Swansea City have always had a talisman at No 9 , Herbie, Gwyther , Latchford who is my own personal favourite up top . Trundle was a crowd pleaser and fans loved him , drew the supporters in as well . Cannot say too many Swansea players could be called true World class talent but Michu must have or should be recognised as world class , a joy to watch he was .
