You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

The restaurant at the top should be a gold mine but where do you park?? The views, day or night are spectacular. Hope the new venture works out.

I remember this place was a nightclub back in the 70s. I didn't go there, but it was rough

Exactly, typical you didn't go there but pass comment.

I think you are mixing it up with Doras

I've worked with Rob Stewart a bit and I know Swansea council come in for a good bit of stick but he really is trying to regenerate the city.

I haven't been to Antarctica, but I know it's cold there

It was called Jingles and it was notorious. As a Swansea lad I would have thought you would have heard about it

Doras was never rough imo , a great place , red drape curtains , sticky dance floor and lots of laughs

I wouldn't say that. Even a mild mannered chap like myself did not escape being forced into fisticuffs at Doras, and I know one or two others who got set upon. Some of the bouncers were not adverse to getting stuck in as well, though I never had a problem with them. Then there was a different occasion when I swapped cars for a weekend with a friend, and had to explain why the side window of his MGB was smashed in while I was inside.

Re the Palace nightclub, there are some photos here - but I must confess the place was not on my regular circuit.

It was a bar not a night club frequented quite a bit mid to late 70s, an as far as I can remember it wasn't rough, now upstairs in the Cape Horner was a totally different matter

Thiecurrent incumbents are doing a lot of good work. It's just a shame previous councils screwed our city up so badly that fixing it is a very expensive job.

Millions spent on the bendy bus, what an abortion that was.

The Palace has been a bar and a nightclub - with Jingles becoming a gay bar.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

You had to know the right people , the licence holder was the brother of one of my mates in the Army ,free entry on occasion when ever we were home for a weekend.

The Cape ,only visited when drunk with the intention of getting drunker, the last landlord was a guy called Alan? Who tried to turn the place around then bought by an Asian family now just a pile of rubble, sad really when you consider the history of the place and the reputation of the sailors which preceded them.

Never visited St. Thomas or Port Tennant much in my younger days , played football at that pitch overlooking the docks way back in the day , cannot remember the name alas .

Read the Cape Horner pub was named after the copper mined in the Swansea area was sent round the Cape of Good Hope by Swansea sailors . Glynn Vivian was the businessman .

Morriston monkeys , a yarn or sailors taking strange creatures from their travels back to the area and asking the locals to hold the animal for a small donation towards their beer .

There again it could be that strange looking tree on Vicarage Road junction .
