But the Tories take taxes in other areas that people don’t notice. Crafty sods they are. The Tories will tell you that Labour tax more, and people are daft enough to believe it. I know one thing, I have always been worse off under Tory rule.

Corbyn's Cronies on 22:49 - Jul 24 by trampie | I've standards, all these Tories in the Labour party should form their own party, they have highjacked the Labour brand. The right wingers within Labour as well as most of the press and the elites did a number on Corbyn to make him unelectable to the sheeple, they labelled him anti Semitic, a terrorist sympathiser and a communist etc etc, laughable but the elites done it to get their own kind in charge which is what we have got with Keir Starver (that is what they call him now Keir Starver because of our children in the UK living in poverty and his apparent support of what is seen by many as Israel starving children in Gaza). |
Len Mcluskey and the Unions, stopped David Milliband becoming Labour leader, which then led to Corbyn, hence we have had 14 years of Tory rule. Labour would never have got into government under Corbyn, well done Keir for suspending the magnificent 7 Corbynistas

I saw recently a post on Facebook with a picture of Kinnock condemning the house of Lords and its inhabitants, another alongside it showed him in his ermine robes grinning like a demented fool ,hypocrisy at its best .We have a labour government led by a Sir and in Wales a 3rd rate Councillor who happens to be another of the establishment ,John Smith would be perpetually spinning in his grave.

Indeed. For a guy who many people insist isn't an anti semitic terrorist supporter, he sure does have a lot of friends who are. Anyways, didn't Trampie spend most of Corbyn's time as Labour leader calling them the "Red Tories"?

They were Red Tories, they ousted Corbyn, they even supported the Conservatives over their own party in that election.

That people don't notice? Surely, as it was all over the news at various times, people were very well aware that there was a large tax take for the government on lots of things, gas and electric, petrol/diesel, clothes (VAT) tax on savings, tax on alcohol and cigarettes, we have taxes coming out our ears. Isn't it something like 47% of every litre of petrol/diesel is tax? Now it looks like the new government are going to tax pension funds too. If the money is spent wisely then maybe things will improve but nobody will be holding their breath.

My Mrs has been taxed on her pension since retiring 2 years ago. It’s in place already. Get over 12,500 a year and anything over is taxed. So it’s no good the Tories shouting about Labour taxing pensions when they were already doing it. [Post edited 25 Jul 17:43]

Changed your tune since it became obvious to you that your previous claims about Scottish indy were the nonsense many people told you! You weren't avrse to hijacking a thread yourself either. I think people need to get used to something, especially Builthy, this Labour government under Starmer is about as left wing as the pilots seat in an aircraft, they are centrist with a few leanings in both directions. The idea of left and right should be outdated, if a government does something it should be because it's the right thing, the best thing to do and whether it's considered left or right shouldn't matter.

52.95p plus vat @20% on fuel., so about 63.5p per litre, plus 20% vat on the difference. It’s roughly 80p per litre goes straight to the gov per litre. [Post edited 25 Jul 17:55]

Petrol is 53.14%, diesel is 51.88% https://www.racfoundation.org/data/percentage-uk-pump-price-which-is-tax-page So when I paid 1.38 per litre 4 days ago about 73p per litre went in tax. It's the high tax that has helped to push inflation, when fuel goes up everything else does too but I doubt we'll see Starmer cutting that tax even though it would really help the cost of living.

The definition of anti semitism needs to be considered,. This is from the U K Government and seems to be a low bar in terms of qualification. You can assess yourself based on this list. Calling for, aiding, or justifying the killing or harming of Jews in the name of a radical ideology or an extremist view of religion. Making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations about Jews as such or the power of Jews as collective — such as, especially but not exclusively, the myth about a world Jewish conspiracy or of Jews controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions. Accusing Jews as a people of being responsible for real or imagined wrongdoing committed by a single Jewish person or group, or even for acts committed by non-Jews. Denying the fact, scope, mechanisms (e.g. gas chambers) or intentionality of the genocide of the Jewish people at the hands of National Socialist Germany and its supporters and accomplices during World War II (the Holocaust).Accusing the Jews as a people, or Israel as a state, of inventing or exaggerating the Holocaust. Accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations. Examples of the ways in which antisemitism manifests itself with regard to the State of Israel taking into account the overall context could include: Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor. Applying double standards by requiring of it a behavior not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation. Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis. Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis. Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel.
