Hot drinks 18:34 - Jul 15 with 1335 views | builthjack | Why are they so expensive? A cup of tea costs about 10p to make. They have overheads yes, but to make £2.50 - £3.00 or more on a cuppa? Coffee around £3.00 - £4.00 for a Latte. Scandalous.
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Hot drinks on 22:25 - Jul 16 with 236 views | Boundy | £2.50 per cup on the slip leading to Tenby harbour. Although you'll be glad to know it comes with a paper cup.

Why is it scandalous? It's an unskilled job that you could probably learn how to do in about fifteen minutes. Why should baristas be paid more than the bare minimum? If I had a job that required skills that took years to learn I'd be pretty pissed off if a coffee server earned as much as me. I'm not saying that they don't work hard. I'm just saying that skills and abilities should count for a lot when it comes to wages paid. [Post edited 16 Jul 22:37]

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Hot drinks on 21:02 - Jul 16 by majorraglan | Going back to the original point, it’s because commercial rents are extortionate, business rates are high as is the cost of gas and electric and then there are staffing costs, minimum wage these days is £11.44 plus on costs. A stall in Swansea market can cost £14kper year. I agree tea and coffee are expensive, but it’s not too difficult to see why. |
Hospitality is a horrendous sector to try and make a living in at the moment since Governments Worldwide tried their best to kill it during Covid.
