Question England or Scotland π You gotta pick one or we are instantly sent to the Welsh Premiership

European Championship π Thread 𧡠on 12:12 - May 23 with 3380 views | RichardO | Scotland as I liked what Steve Clarke has been allowed to do in getting them into shape, he had a bit of a shaky start but has done well. As for Joe Jordan you can only blame the officials which is one of the reasons VAR was needed not borderline off side decisions.

I honestly thaght that Scotland would be the easy answer. In the rugby we get on with the Scottish fans. Is there some past history why some people don't like them?

Wasn't the game the Joe Jordan incident was in an us them to qualify for a major competition if memory is correct. As for England,... Swansea Cardiff, Wrexham and Newport all play in the Football league that was renamed the English Football League and I have followed their results as long as I can remember and as a youngster TV was how I followed Football as that was the only way I could watch it and that was mainly only highlights and the rare televised matches were cup finals so you ended up picking a second team to support in my case Chelsea given a couple of good years in the early 70s so I am more than happy to support England's in major football competitions if they do not conflict with Wales progress as I spend as much time as I could watching the British teams. Rugby is a totally different kettle of fish England are always in direct competition and so rarely garner my support. As for why didn't I go watch the Swans live as a kid I was always playing on Saturdays and my older brother took me to games when he could, I gave up playing for a year after school and went to the home games and a couple of away games in Toshak's promotion year to the First Division but even that success wasn't enough to stop me playing the following year. The arrival of a family meant finishing playing and meant spending weekends with them leading to some pretty poor football coaching attempts by me. Finally managed to get season tickets when the kids interest in football grew. Now and as long as I remember a Swansea or Wales win against any team overrides any other results.

Lads it was 1977 a full 12 years before I was born. Do we need a group counseling session π. We should be backing the British teams in the euros. I totally get not supporting England due to their fans being awful. Since 77 we have had our tournament football.

I will never get over it, Wales blatantly cheated, not forgetting Yugoslavia either, Wales had a very good team then and who knows how far they could have gone in both Worlds and Euros at that time if they had not been robbed.

It's easy for someone to say get over it when it didn't affect them. Those who were supporters at the time never will.

I'd rather watch paint dry, it'll be on here though, the eldest will watch it and my Mrs loves the footie, so I'll be out voted, I've got a nice Cardie to knit though, so I'll be happy enough
