Looks like yet another example of shareholders taking billions out of a formally public company which in turn will be bailed out by the taxpayer.
Does anyone have an example of privatisation of our utilities being a success?

Privatisation has only two beneficiaries- the shareholders and the government. We the consumer are not amongst them.
And they sold it by convincing the public that “competition would lead to better services and cheaper bills”. 🤣
I'm not sure they convinced the public though that was what they told us.
Here we are now with every bill higher but almost every or maybe every service is poorer. Exactly the opposite of what they claimed would happen.
The politicians have once more taken us for a ride and now they are telling us the price for that journey is a lot hgher than stated.
