The end of Welsh pubs on 17:12 - Dec 19 by Wingstandwood | We are witnessing a blatant strategy in real time to destroy Wales so that it'll forever remain a poverty sticken economic wasteland and Labour stronghold, because it's an obvious case of "keep em poor, keep em voting for us". The refusal to build roads adds to all that. Nobody could have predicted what we are seeing now when voting for or against devolution all those years back. It's surreal to think that a government is deliberately (not by incompetence but by choice) destroying a country from within. Could you imagine another decade of this! |
Marxism in action, eliminate the middle classes, throw crumbs to the workers.

The end of Welsh pubs on 00:40 - Dec 20 with 1525 views | Robbie | Last time I ventured into my local pub was before the covid issue , they had Sky to watch the football , something I have not got . no big deal for me a beer and sport on the tele . Lock Down , Social Distancing rules and regs then followed , I did not socialise any more . Have not bothered to return to them haunts since then . Now boozers in my area are closing down big time , converted into flats and the like . Agree , the night out in the local for a pint , chat with a stranger have gone sadly . Smoking bans , £5 a pint in places , added to the problem of having to be wary of others . Are they stoned , high , nasty in drink after a few too many or steriod gym freaks . Unfortunate my locals are closing down , staff losses and kitchen workers will be difficult .

The uk govt numbers distort the truth. For example, all Tesco economic activity in Wales is counted as English as their HQ is in England. Thats £3 billion btw. Mutiply that by all the other businesses that operate in Wales but like Tesco have hq’s in England. There has been a near economic disaster in wales since the heavy industries died, but its more complex thsn the headline numbers on both sides of the debate. Annibyniaeth.

Only you have been told the £30 billion was a myth invented by the SNP. The £30 billion was the full cost of the tax cuts over a full financial year. As none of the tax cuts ever happened cost was zero. Do you still believe in Father Christmas 🎅 More like scrooge Drakeford in Wales

Truss was a disaster, while the claims of £30bn are wide of the mark as Hunt and Sunak overturned her policies, we are paying more for her disastrous reign in interest payments. Interest rates have gone up across the world, but ours have gone up higher and faster and have the so called “Moron factor” premium attached to them on account of Truss. She’s still costing people money!

Truss lost her job, are you suggesting it was a big success ? It was another london disaster following the covid disaster following the brexit disaster. Following the illegal wars and huge national debt. And still you chirp on …. Amazing …

Tesco is a multinational company , a business which has outlets in many parts of the world and still has its headquarters in London so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

Loads closed in Birkenhead but there again I’d never venture there to “ drink” . Too depressing and tricky . West Wirral is doing ok however and when when restaurant / bar closes, somebody reopens it. I don’t really go to Liverpool apart from Gigs and exhibitions . Population of Wirral is over 300,000 so there’s plenty of life here as well as open country . I’m here until I die ! 100% If they could only defend the Senedd with reasonable, well thought out debate, but they can't. There's silly whataboutery and deflection and nothing that defends what the Senedd is doing.

The scale of mismanagement at Westmonster dwarfs the scale of mismanagement in our Senedd. Thats why its relevent. Critising the Senedd but being silent on Westmonster diminshes your posts - and reveals an agenda. Democracy in Wales is not perfect, of course, but its ours to do with what we want. Its a young democracy and needs less hostility from London’s muscular unionism Brexit cabal.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was under pressure Friday to explain why Britain has paid Rwanda 240 million pounds ($300 million) as part of a blocked asylum plan, without a single person being sent to the East African country. Welsh Government returned £160m Rwanda has cost the uk £240m for nothing.

And on those Westminster threads how many of us say, ah, but the Senedd is worse? because we stick to topic. Mow pubs, nt just Welsh pubs, they are dying out. Strangely though the alcohol problem is still there as people just stock up at the supermarket. Smoking was hit hard, no smoking indoors, no adverts, price rise after price rise but besides the price rises they haven't discouraged alcohol whch causes more problems than smoking.
