The 20MPH punishments 08:34 - Aug 3 with 150799 views | SullutaCreturned | Well the punishment for breaking the limit, https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/police-confirm-how-punish-drivers- Given how many idiots are on the roads, the delivery drivers under pressure and the actual difficutly in staying below 20 (it is difficult, I do it every week when I go to Cardiff and it's harder than you'd think, specially going downhill) there will be a lot of speeding going on. The Senedd expect the fire brigade to become a road safety unit, how stupid is that? The fire brigade have their job and it's hard enough for them to do that the way the Senedd behaves. Then there's the pollution problem, all those cars tootling around in second gear will fill the streets with pollution, it'll rise and rise and the few accidents stopped by this madness will be replaced tenfold and more in the years to come by serious health issues, those with asthma can look out, better buy your respirators now. I wonder if cancers will also increase? By the time we have all gone electric, assuming we all do, thousands of lives will be blighted by illness. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

The 20MPH punishments on 20:04 - Nov 10 by SullutaCreturned | That's democracy for you, we elect a small group of people to tell us what to do, and they do it. You do understand how democracy works I take it? Thing is, we also get a chance to remove them from power in a fixed term so lets hope enough registered voters have had enough. |
For me it is the people who are just as much a problem as the idiots they put in charge of them, i look at Llanelli for eg the place has become a cesspit, people spend much of there time sitting in traffic trying to get back and fore to work after what was implemented in Stradey the back lanes are filthy and rat invested, station road is a drug haven for dealers and addicts the surgeries and getting to see a GP is shambolic, people have to travel to Swansea or Carmarthen because the hospital can not cope because the headers in charge shut down and closed all the near by support centres the people of Llanelli can see the decline of there town yet will vote for the same people every time so you have to come to the conclusion that the fools will get what they deserve. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Nah, technically it means building more roads so that'll never be considered because it costs more to build stuff than to find a way to punish and fine people. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

That council fined drivers of council vehicles who the council had probably sent there, doesn't seem fair. It's not a war on motorists though so that's ok. It must be a way to bump up revenue so councillors epenses can be raised, or in Wales case so they can pay for the extra MS's we don't want or need. On Llangollen, having a 40 buffer makes sense really, going from 60 straight down to 20 is silly and dangerous. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

The louder you shout makes no difference to the argument , the insidious way that this lot in cardiff have implemented it + the fact that they're reducing sped limits on major truck roads such as the M48 to 50 mph ,the heads of the valleys , the A55, the A465 ,M4 into and through s Wales. They're trying to get people from driving to using public transport but in their comical way have removed subsidies which in turn reduces services , Dripford was right on one thing , we do do things differently and are becoming a laughing stock.because of it and worse the Welsh economy which is and has been struggling will now lose 9 billion pounds , the policy of a lunatic and anyone who thinks this is a great idea is as stupid as he is | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) |

It is when it is applied to all previous 30mph and local councils have to submit a case to exempt roads from the blanket 20mph. 20mph is the new default speed limit in built up areas unless an exemption is applied for. It England 30mph is the default speed limit on built up areas and exemptions have to be applied for to implement 20mph in certain circumstances. Clearly a difference between England and Wales. 30mph in the blanket default speed limit in England 20mph is an exemption from this. 20mph is the blanket speed limit in Wales 30mph is an exemption from this. 467,000 people in Wales agree that the blanket 20mph law in Wales should be rescinded. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) |
