I'm a bit of an adrenlin junkie but I would have gotten in that sub. There is (as we can clearly see) no way to manage the risks at that depth, there is no back up. If there's a faiure you are screwed and need rescuing.
At least with parachuting you have a reserve chute. With SCUBA you should have a buddy.
These subs should be relatively safe though these days. We had subs diving down to find the titanic nearly forty years ago and vessels regularly go down there. Even Baldrick has been down there apparently. James Cameron went down to the bottom of the Mariana Trench which is over twice the depth that titanic is at.
Although it will always have an element of risk pretty much every vessel apart from this one has got down there and back safely and without incident.

I don't think he dived with no certified inspection nor was the vessel made of carbon fibre
