Would you swap Ayew for Piroe? on 11:18 - Feb 14 by STID2017
So by "stop boring people" you mean " stop boring me" Say it as it is, don't infer you know how all other posters think
Nope, people.
Do you really think you asking questions that have clearly already been answered and then taking up half the thread with your nonsense makes a good read?
Common sense now champ.

Ayew isnt a central striker, we played him there but it wasnt his best position, I reckon, if things stay as they are those minutes per goal stats will change around before very long.
I'd choose Auew though, his all around game, his contribution to the team, I feel, was greater than Piroe's is.
If you'd put Lowe up instead of Ayew, then I'd take Piroe.
If we had Ayew on the right now, no more silly wing back stuff and proper wide players, I reckon Piroe would love having Ayew there. He'd create so much out of our possession.

Martin refuses to play wide attackers. Ayew would never fit in this side

The wing backs ARE our wide attackers, they are just not very good at attacking, specially Latibeaudiere. Now if we had proper wide attackers.
I reckon, if we had Cooper as manager and Piroe up front with Ayew on the right and Lowe and the left we'd do ok. Cooper wanted a striker, if he'd been given a Piroe it could all have been different.
Do remember, this is hypothetical. It is just my opinion, as is the vote because none of us can know how either scenario would work out and the majority could be wrong, most were still 100% behind Martin until quite recently.

I understand your point and I agree.
But the question is more would you swap them now. So Russ is the manager and you have the chance to swap our Piroe for the Swansea version of Ayew (Ayew under Cooper).
For me it’s an easy no.
Our attack would be awfully disjointed, Piroe and his natural striker instincts is the only thing preventing the whole system crashing down like a house of cards, some would argue it already has.

Where was the complaint?
I am advising you to stop being boring with your silly replies.
Why are your posts always so sketchy. You seem like you have an interest in the club . But the passion is not there, you are either a share holder or a real yank without an emotional connection to our LOVLEY BOYS

You think it’s sketchy to tell someone to stop being boring by asking a question that’s already clearly been answered?
Yes, probably means I’m Jason Levien. Good spot.

Mate I'm not being funny but your support of these owners makes my skin crawl. You are a football man I can tell that, but what's your angle? Your posts seem like PR for the owners. One question what did the North Bank smell like as you walked to the burger van?

Why would you not want to support a group of owners keeping us solvent? Spending millions and staking their own money to levels never done before by any owner.
Get yourself to the pasty, smoke and urine smelling North bank. Close your eyes… imagine spending £8m in 18 months on players… after putting in £16m of their own money to keep the club afloat.
Mad eh?

Mate you sound like that with every post , let me give you am example . The owners might of killed a maternity ward but they will baby sit your kids.
So you wouldn’t want to spend £8m on players while dreaming of such things on the North Bank?
I remember how excited we were spending £108k on Steve Watkin. It was so much money the exact amount has been etched into my brain.
And when Trundle went to Bristol City for a cool Million I thought we would all be smoking Cubans for the next few years.
Having owners facilitate this kind of spending after putting in £16m of their own money is incredible.
I don’t know how any genuine Swans fan who has experienced what all our other ownership is like, isn’t extremely satisfied with the state of play in that department.

I think Ayew is the sort of player you could chuck him in most positions and get a tune out of him. Up top, either wing, even in midfield. He always put a shift in and did the hard work that i don't think Piroe quite does. I'd liked to have seen how Ayew would've been used by Potter, now that would've been an exciting side to watch.

On that basic question, then I woukd still swap because for me, Ayew is the more accomplished player. His experience would serve us better. Piroeus, at times, chasing shadows and pulled out of position by the relentless possession football.
With Martin as manager I think the system has failed. We score enough goals but we let even more in and 2 wins in 16 with this squad is a major fail, in my opinion. If we don't convincingly beat Blackpool tonight Martin has to go.

Your choice, but for me it’s easy.
We would be horrific with Ayew, who is a wide forward, up front and isolated. With the defence the way it is that sounds like relegation trouble.
Ayew is someone who makes things out of in box touches, we barely enter the opponents box. I can’t think of a more fitting striker to this “system” at this level than Piroe.
I can’t think of too many Ayew long range goals, where as Piroe has scored countless long range solo efforts.

Ayew curled in quite a few from 15-20 yards. He didn't get many tap-ins. Ayew also had a high work rate and was sharper too, I my opinion. Piroe, this season, is failing to get as many shots in. They are getting blocked or he is tackled first. Piroehas been much less effective this season whereas Cullen has finally come through.

You must be remembering another Ayew.
All his championship goals:
Goals: 31
Goals outside the 18 yard box: 1 (3.2%) Goals inside the 18 yard box (outside 6): 12 (38.7%) Goals inside the 6 yard box: 8 (25.8%) Penalties: 10 (32.2%)
So he only scored one goal outside the box, a large % tap ins from inside the 6 yard box.

If it’s a straight Ayew in Coopers last season v Piroe last season - Ayew
If we’re factoring in things like age, resale value and wages - Piroe
We barely touch the ball inside the 6 yard box and we don’t have many penalties, both those things made up half of Ayews goals.
What use would he be instead of Piroe in this side? Piroe scores a quarter of his goals outside the box, our most frequented attacking position - as opposed to 1 goal from Ayew.
It’s a no brainer.

And what use would Piroe be running the channels as a striker cum winger with Lowe on the opposite flank and not a great deal of support from behind? Piroe has certainly had a lot more chances created for him in both of his seasons.
I’ve answered the question and it’s a no. However if we’re ignoring transfer value, potential to improve and wages, I’d take the Ayew of that season over Piroe in either of his seasons so far.

In that case, goal involvements and types of goals scored in a team playing that style aren’t really relevant. He’d have more chances in this team. Ayew and Obafemi would have been a great partnership IMO
