Swansea City v Reading : Match day Thread 2022/23 UPDATED on 22:00 - Oct 18 by max936 | Vetchy have you ever made a mistake, mistakes even? I have and far to many at that, tonight was superb, a tense one though, 3 more exhausting points in the bag. Enjoy the moment. We done to Martin he's learning all the time, you can see it in the players by the way they respond to him as well, Great Stuff. |
plenty the person who hasn't made a mistake has never done anything. we are lucky to have Fulton....great win but the changes at halftime were how we should have started....maybe then we might have won 3 nil..... that said 3 points in the bag and some confidence going into Sunday

No need to spin anything. The data speaks for itself, however way you want to spin it. Good win, but it took some rescuing from an awful tactical set up in the first half. That’s is the fact.

They could easily have collapsed tonight. Brilliant man management with the subs too, explaining decisions when they came off. This man will take us up.

Not sure he was dishonest , poor positioning for the non penalty and a lack of decision making by us for both Readings goals could have cost us the game.Benda's punch whilst taking a Reading player out late in the second half could have gone againgst us but thankfully not

Swansea City v Reading : Match day Thread 2022/23 UPDATED on 22:13 - Oct 18 with 1037 views | magicdaps10 | That should have been 5 goals there tonight from us tonight if the ref was on it. We were very decent tonight with a superb mental toughness throughout including the bench. The first goal from Reading is a sucker punch and Darling needs to learn from the 2nd.....we got punished for our 2 mistakes and that very rarely happens. We are a young group and still learning but I think Martin has really turned a corner and there is a belief as shown tonight in the team that hasn't been there in the last 20 months or so. Take a bow Martin, staff and players.....superb come back.

Great comeback, a lot of incidents I would like to see in the highlights, hard to judge from the stands. My only dig tonight is wing backs continues to be a problem, we don't look capable of going beyond their full backs.

Indeed, this side is capable of promotion as many of us were saying last season. It’s barely changed. Reverting to how we played last season is going to return the same result. Today should be a wake up call and (another) free lesson for him where he can see the results the styles bring in stark contrast without costing us anything. A return to it from this point forward is inexcusable.

There was a mental toughness in the squad, after losing so badly on the weekend and going 2-0 down tonight....it would have been easy to feel sorry themselves. Martin's starting to get a tune out of a very young squad.

He’s going to manage at the very top one day, another reason we need to go up this year, Premier sides will come knocking otherwise. Not sure he’d go for a team likely to go down but unless we go up, he could be gone. He’s a fantastic manager

Swansea City v Reading : Match day Thread 2022/23 UPDATED on 22:28 - Oct 18 with 893 views | Dr_Winston | I think people may be slightly overstating how well we did tonight. In the first half we huffed and puffed and didn't create much at all. Midfield was a yawning chasm, Grimes did more to slow down our attacks than half of their players, and the lack of pace in the team overall was a huge handicap. Second half was much better. Oko-Flex showed what we were missing out wide and we actually started looking for the forward pass. Still too hesitant in there at times, and the way we immediately started sitting back after going in front will be punished by better teams than Reading. We got the win, but could easily have lost against a very mediocre team. We'll have to do a lot better than that if we have designs on promotion.

He is young and has got a young team performing well...consistency with such a young squad is going to be an issue as tonight has shown but if he carries on then eyes will be looking his way. Quite a few things need to happen but a win Sunday could see us going top, it's highly unlikely but a possible all the same. 3 points off the top......let that one sink in 😠

At one point he was sprinting the length of the pitch to win defensive headers. Say what you like about him, but he leaves every sinew of himself out on the pitch when he comes off it.

Swansea City v Reading : Match day Thread 2022/23 UPDATED on 22:33 - Oct 18 with 868 views | swan85 | Great result to come back from 2-0 down, especially after the run of corners and pressure we had before they scored. Could really have been a kick in the knackers to the confidence. But they came back and won the game. Only negative for me, at 2-0 down said to my Mrs, we would win 3-2…..and didn’t put a bet on! 🙄

Swansea City v Reading : Match day Thread 2022/23 UPDATED on 20:56 - Oct 18 by Dr_Parnassus | In order to win this, possession needs to come down from 79% and long balls have to come up from 4%. Otherwise we are looking at a frustrating and pedestrian second half. I wonder if he will put the breaks on Martinball after it’s abysmal return to the stage. |

Grimes had a good game against Sunderland. He was a million miles away from that tonight. Played more square balls than a lego football team.
