Even with some dig signings Appleton will have difficulty turning this round now.
I think his cancer illness and treatment took a lot out of him.
He may look OK physically but I reckon that more spiritually / his motivation / lust for life has taken a big knock.

That's what we, certainly I, thought when Appleton was appointed.
I didn't have a problem with his past PNE links and him quitting as our manager before. For a manager with his experience there was nowhere near enough on his CV to warrant offering him the job.
Also, another thing that sent the alarm bells ringing with Critchley leaving for a coaching role, I was surprised to find out Appleton had done the same. Leaving as manager of Oxford to coach at Leicester.
